So in the midst of epically destroying Pontus, their ally Bythnia offered me a separate peace. I figured why not get them off my back, plus they were offering tribute and accepted. Come to find out that I had misread the peace and they were asking me for tribute. So now I'm stuck and was wondering if anyone could tell me how to cancel tribute if you are the tributary. Thanks in advance.

From what I've heard, you can cancel after the treaty is done (I haven't had any tributaries break away myself, nor have I had any mistakes like yours). You'll likely get in another war though.

In the meantime, why not try toget on the good side of Bithynia so they help you when the next war comes?

Ah, I forgot about being unable to colonize. Though, I got the gist that blindgoose was playing as an Anatolian minor. Being unable to declare war isn't too bad, though, in my opinion, since one doesn't have to play a warmonger.

I don't think either of those would help too much with cuddling up to Bithynia, though.

Reload, maybe, if you happen to be playing as a Greek and really don't want to wait five years to begin colonizing again?
