I realize that this is probably not a priority at the moment, but after reading about post ACW elections, what about Canadian elections. I know that Canada is supposed to be leaning towards authoritarianism, but my impression is that it is still democratic. Are there any plans for Canadian elections?
I figure that by 1940, the PM would call an election. After 5 years of King, I would think that popular opinion would be shifting back to Bennett. After all, Bennett was more charismatic and popular than King, only the Depression destroyed him. Perhaps we could have an election set up like this:
1940
If Canada's not at war:
Bennett (supported by British Conservatives) 60%
King (Supported by British Liberals) 39%
Progressives/Social Credit/another third party perhaps gaining ground 1%
If Canada's at War with UoB:
Bennett 50%
King 30%
Coalition gov't 20%
If Canada's at war with CSA:
Bennett 20%
King 20%
Coalition gov't 60% (to combat nearby threat)
Anyway, those are just some initial ideas, what do you guys think?
