Actually the first game I play it will be with the US and taking over the entire American Continent. I think that will be hillarous to see what the British do. Fight Germany and me or just give up. Anyhow I wonder how I am going to fend off Japan. Maybe allow them to have a free hand in China. That be fine by me as far as I am concerned. Say maybe even have them attack the USSR a few times to keep their fleet from building too much. Anyways I need to lay out a plan on operations to do this. I wonder how much of a push over Mexico is. you think they will allow me to walk in and take over their country. That be funny.

I know that. But the Canadians are part of the commonwealth and as such britian should be slightly mad at me for taking over canada. I think i will just station a division in each territory then just annex the country. it be funny.
Considering the dismal failure that every American attempt to invade Canada has been, you might want to rethink this. Those Canucks can be pretty dangerous once you get them riled up. Try yelling "The Leafs SUCK!" in downtown Toronto and you'll see what I mean.
Anyway, what happened to the planned safeguarding against such absurdities? Or were those safeguards only meant to prevent the AI from doing stuff like this?

On a serious note:
US, as a democracy, can not invade Canada until and unless its war entry is high enough.
As well, in all scenarios Canada is part of the Allies, so a US declaration of war on Canada should provoke a British (and French) response (note: i've never tried this).

OK, but is war entry directed in some way against a particular side? i.e., would Japanese aggression against the British in Asia cause war entry to raise to levels that would permit the U.S. to then declare war on Canada? That seems a tad backwards ...

Well i think i should not have posted my idea in the first place. I hate to have a flame war between US and Canada start. Anyhow I think a military alliance is possible until I get to the point of stationing troops in their country. Once I get enough units in thier country I just annex them. That be fun see UK try to retake my newly gotton 51st State. Oh well I guess I will need to research Subs and thats it. I have the primire sub fleet in the world. I will try to get my land force and fighters as the best. tactical bombers are the next on the prorities. I think Stragetic Bombers will be the Lowest priortiy with carriers and destroyers after tactical bombers. whats the point of having a carrier force if you do not have a tactical bomber force to attack with. from what i read i think it is possible if i spend some diplo money and get them to allow military acccess of their country. after that just station a unit on each territory then just ask them to be annexed by me. I think that will work. Not sure but I will try. I plan on doing that to Mexico as well. Get both of those countries i be set on my to having my own empire.
You're going to annex the second largest nation on the planet and turn it into only one state?
OTOH the US starts with a measly 4 divisions in the 36 scenario. Try and take Canada or Mexico with that!

well if I dont add any units and go to war in 36 which would be very stupid. But if wait allow my technology to increase I can do a crash military program in 38-39 and be ready in 40-41 to take over the americas rather quickly, with most of the diplo points going to making a good friendship to the point of allowing military access. thats all i need then I have my 51st state plus a few more states as well.

Well try this:
Play as Germany in the 36 scenario, as Germany gets most diplomatic influence. Then use it to influence USA and then make a coup there, so they becme fachsist. Save the game. Load it again and choice to play with USA instead. Voila, you have a faschist USA and you can declare war as much as you like?
