It's my first game of Europa Universalis, and Canada has won it's independence from Britain... but it's located exclusively in South America?!? Any idea why this is?
just imagine how big that font would have been if you didn't let the netherlands into the mid west.
Very odd to have the British colonizing South America like that. I have to assume you ate Portugal which screwed up the balance of power there. Normally the Brits go for the modern territory of the USA and Canada, but it seems they had little choice in this game.
Castile's colonization AI is screwed up in the current version. It gives a large priority to colonize Manhattan and the thirteen colonies. Thus Britain can only colonize whats left. Some have argued that it is WAD because Castile is cutting off England and France from the wealthy Chesapeake node.
I beg to differ because Chesapeake can't go to Seville, and has to go to the inferior Bordeaux node to collect. Thus, Spain is feeding France, England and the Dutch ducats. If it were so smart as to be cutting them off, it would not be trying to fwd trade Carib>Chesapeake, even if it owned Chesapeake. It would aid the French in sending Chesapeake>Bordeaux as these ducats would be icing on the cake. As it stands now though, Castile does all the heavy lifting for the French, which is nonsensical.
Paradox hasn't commented if it is WAD or not, AFAIK.
