I am playing as the Timurids/Mughal empire and I have no tolerance slider for hinduism wich is a bit of a problem both gamewise and historically. Is there a way to change this by some savvy editing perhaps?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
I believe you can adjust it in the save game, look for your country's section (typically by typing in the AI filename or your capital's name), and find the tolerance section. If you don't find the tolerances you need, find an AI's section and paste their tolerances in there. Not sure if it'll work though, and it'll certainly reset if you tinker with it in the game.

I tried that before and it worked until december 31 that year. When the next year begun the values were reset to reflect the settings of the sliders again. There were values for all religions in the savegame though.
Does anyone know which setting decide what sliders you can change? Could it be the techgroup perhaps?

It's based entirely on your state religion and whether the Reformation, Council of Trent, etc have occurred, AFAIK.
