I'm having problems adding surviving mars to my steam library because the Epic Games launcher uses a browser link.
You cannot add non-Steam games to your Steam library.
I know, but all that does it fire off the game as if Steam was not involved; I don't regard that as adding to your library as such since it is not in the library's file structure.
You can add the game's .exe file to Steam as a non-Steam game, so you can run it from there. How that interacts with whatever client/launcher Epic has I have no idea.Thank you for all the answers but the epic games store uses a browser link which can't be added as a steam shortcut. But you said I can get it registered here?
I have no idea. That's seems to be between Steam and Epic. that said, I'm not sure of the point?I'm sorry if I'm not phrasing this right, but it's literally a browser link; it opens a link which launches the game. It's com.epicgames.launcher://apps/ovenbird?action=launch&silent=true
Type of file: internet shortcut (.url)
You can add .exe files and .exe shortcut files but, I don't know how to add this.
As I said above, you get a forum registration key from Epic and redeem it in the Register a Game tab above.Edit: Also how do I register it?
At the bottom of the steam library there is a button to add nonsteam games, It works with exe files and shortcuts but not web shortcuts like what epic games uses. You cannot add non-Steam games to your library....anyway I didn't manage to do so
As I said above, you get a forum registration key from Epic and redeem it in the Register a Game tab above.
@TinyWiking @DebbieElla Can you confirm if this is the case with Epic now?No you don't. Looked eveywhere in their emails, in-app account, online account, etc. I then opened a ticket on Epic Games side and after some days of thought, their answer is "Unfortunately we do not offer Forum Registration Codes at this time."
So no Surviving Mars badge for me on the forum...![]()
Thanks for your feedback. Not a big deal anyway, just one missing badge! This is sadly true as Epic doesn't support third party key distribution yet. We've requested this feature but have no idea when/if it will happen.
