Can we stop with the map complaints?

Why has everyone recently been complaining about the map so much? Everyone so desperately wants to have different places have more detail or whatever, but there are plenty of mods out there that do this already. If you want a better England, then go and play with Beyond the Pale. If you don't like beyond the pale, then create a mod yourself.

I'm so fed up with just scrolling through the dev diaries with people just ranting 'ahhh, still a rubbish lapland' or 'why is uksub serbian it should be bulgarian' or even the worst people who literally just ask 'what, you added a province to Europe and not to the ROTW, how dare you'. Jeez can we not be happy that they are updating the map and keeping it looking awesome (I mean, have you seen the new memel?).

A significant majority of players for all our games play vanilla. EU4 would probably have the highest mod attachment rate if it wasn't for GoT.

You have people from every corner of the world playing this game. There is less than zero chance everyone is satisfied, especially when some patriotic thoughts come in. I'm fine and thankful about every map change, as I think we can all agree it just gets better and better. But most complaints are more or less reasonable and discussed in a normal way. Just ignore things like "omg serbia is not stronk". Poor Serbia, its always Serbia.

You mean the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' mod? Is it that popular?

While the Oberoni Fallacy ("a game isn't broken if it can be houseruled by the DM") is usually referred to while speaking about RPGs, it works here as well. Yes, of course it can be modded. It doesn't mean that the game shouldn't be, out of the box, as precise as possible.

The thing is that stuff like the dev diaries and map teasers I'm not annoyed by the update on the development themselves. In fact, most of the comments are fine too. You just get those few who complain and for whatever reason it just rubs me the wrong way :L

You come to this forum for one reason and some other people come for other reasons. Who is to say that yours is better than theirs? What annoys you is perhaps something that another forum user enjoys talking about. Why should your taste be the point of view in general?

Really? I seemed to recall EU III and Vicky 2 being played predominately with mods (especially vicky 2), but maybe that's confirmation bias.

the map changes amuse me.... i would love to see more map changes.
lets face it people like to see a stronger and a more historically balanced landscape especially in places they play in.
I play Burgundy, and Byzantium a Lot, and Brandenburg a bit.... these current map changes amuse and interest me greatly.
Because it makes it a little harder to conquer their enemies, and a lot more powerful when they do so, for all 3.
To me it seems that what Paradox is doing is making it not nessarilly harder for these nations but more pseudo Historically accurate in general, and it's an ongoing progress... Indeed Paradox may eventually make a more dynamic and... erm larger British Isles and other places eventually.

There's nothing wrong with wanting change, but not all of it can happen at once. Paradox said areas like the Balkans, Britain, France, and so on are in consideration and will be addressed in later patches.

Paradox said that many times already in their dev dairies, and yet people are so impatient these days that "I WANT IT RIGHT MEOW" is a common thing. Seriously, Balkans, Britain, wherever, it's in the works, just be patient and wait.
