It doesn't make sense historically, it doesn't make sense in terms of gameplay.
1. Knights of Calatrava and Santiago should not be triggered by Norse holding Brunswick. Those were almost exclusively a Iberian orders.
2. Number of soldiers should be heavily cut down pre-1096. I mean, they didn't even exist then. I understand that in the alternate history where Saxony did not fall I guess it's possible that Crusade started 200 years early. But Knights each getting 5~10k troop when the king of France can barely muster up 5k is absurd. The appropriate number would be 1k~5k.
3. After 1096 everything's fine. They are still OP as heaven but that makes sense in historical context.
It's mainly the fact that they can muster up 5k~10k even when that number does not make any sense in the situation of 900 Europe.
