Can we paint our Friend Ship?

Hi, New joiner here.

From the Blorg streams I have noticed the other Fungus alliance have same model and color with Blorg, so I'm just wondering about that.

I hope that we can paint it based on our flag color.

No, but Wiz stated that he would like to able to in the future. I think it's the first stream, where they chose the kind of ship they have and Cknoor ask if they can colour it as their flag.

Sorry but no, they have not included this feature for some reason.
Fans are asking for it however so it probably will be in DLC

The devs themselves were receptive to this feature, but we haven't heard back from the devs or seen any changes in the Blorg streams... so most likely not gonna make it on release.

The stream had mention of the devs "talking about" the possibility of painting ships

Would be nice honestly- it's not gonna take long to find a fleet of exactly the same ship-designs and have little to no way of distinguishing them besides the UI.

Just having a few painted stripes to match flag colors would be enough honestly; doesn't need to be a full paintjob.

To my exceedingly limited knowledge of modeling and texturing, re-doing all of the ship/station textures to have a few faction-colored striped shouldn't be exceptionally difficult, so it's possible that the feature may come into the final build that ends up released, or if not then one soon after.

Take that with an enormous mountain of salt though. Last I recall from the stream, they were locking down a build of the game for release, so at this late stage, it's unlikely.

There are a lot of games that do stuff like that.

Gal Civ 2 for example, BF Gothic is supposed to get that function later as well and so on.

And of course there are countless games that let you color stuff as you want.

As much as i want that feature... neon pink AI ships would piss me off and ruin my immersion, if it's gonna be in it has to be optional (meaning not turned on unless the player explicitly does so)
Or there would need to be a system to prevent the AI from going all pastel on me
