Can we no longer save research points?

So I noticed that I seem to be unable to save up research points anymore- I could have 100,000 research points saved up inbetween tech years and it will only work for the first tech. The tech might only cost 10,000 points, but as soon as it finishes the other 90,000+ points I had saved up are gone. Was this an intentional change?

You can now only save one years worth of research points afaik

You can save 1 years worth, and can only spend 100/day. So you can't grab Machine Guns on the 1st of January and colonize all of Africa while the AI scratches it head anymore, no.

Yeah exactly... They put these arbitrary Limits on saved numbers and dont tell us. Playing playing, notice I have had 60 officer points for a year now. Same now with Tech, I would always save up for certain things. I dont honestly understand the change... if you want to forgor other stuff to save up why shouldnt you beable to.

Because in absolutely no way is it remotely realistic to instantly research cutting edge technologies and always be ahead of the rest of the world. Besides, one year is WAY MORE than enough to give you a big leg up on stuff like machine guns that might be a necessary advantage to take on a populous nation.

I like that the manuals are now available a few days before the game ist live. ^-^
