Why people gotta overcomplicate this. Just use the smallest district brush and put it in the midle of the road it will snapp to it and just gently drag it from one end to the other. If naming the street is that important, u got the tool for it.

I would prefer not to mix both features. If its not designed to get used in that way, there are calamities.
Better one have a special brush for that.
But even it pops up once in a while, the majority of players couldnt care less for that. thats sad, because I think its an very useful tool for individualizing your city

I would be really happy to see this getting into the game. It gives me more control over the city. Naming metrostations and busstops for example but also making the city feel more alive and my own creation.
