As the titles says, pretty please with an cherry at the top,right now its a pain in the behind to continue an MP game... also a resync button ala HOI4 would be great

and when we are at it... hotjoin allmost allways (like 90%) leeds to an desync after a few days of playtime from the person that hotjoined..

Hoi4 like lobby and working hotjoin and resync would extremely improve quality of Multiplayer games.

Currently if new player joins game have to pick empire from the list so it's even hard for extra players avoid advanced starts (if there are any) or pre-FTL species that reached stars during game.
Also with larger games de-syncs and following re-hosts make games terribly frustrating. With 20 players during 4h session we spent 1.5h on re-hosts caused by someone de-sync. It's very discouraging to play MP games.

I can only support this! A working lobby would improve quality of life a hundred fold for MP games. I don't own HOI4 so I don't know about its resync button or its lobby, but if the lobby is in anyway similar to EU4: YES PLEAAAASE!!!!

In Hoi4 Re-Sync is form of very fast reconnect. Game host sent save to de-synced player as if he rejoined game. Except whole procedure take 20-30 sec(save transfer and loading save) instead of at least 5 minutes.

instead of everyone leaving and rejoining and needing 5 minutes till everyone is back and loaded the game, (even more annoying because of the lack of a proper lobby in stellaris) its done ingame...INGAME with the simple push of an button, then you wait till everyone loaded, e voila.

Apart from GUI implementation its kinda ponderous as to why features from other Clausewitz games that you think would be universal do not propagate across games.
Yeah I have not understood this so far. At launch Stellaris had /great/ netcode, I hosted a MP game with over 50 players, no OOS. I was kinda surprised that the netcode wouldn't be ported to EU4 ASAP :/

Paradox games with a _working_ multiplayer? That sounds too good to be even possible... But sign me up!

Also, some sort of a dedicated server would be lovely (if only for faster save downloads by any newcomers).

As the titles says, pretty please with an cherry at the top,right now its a pain in the behind to continue an MP game... also a resync button ala HOI4 would be great

and when we are at it... hotjoin allmost allways (like 90%) leeds to an desync after a few days of playtime from the person that hotjoined..

i don't think a dedicated server will speed things up ;)

Why do think it wouldnt help in any way? I am not that good educated at tech questions I fought a faster speed is one of the purposes of a dedicated server.

There is not much to add as long as there is no response from dev team. Also this Feature is so needed for MP games that I'm not surprised that people like to bump thread to make it spotted by dev team. If you have suggestion what should we write to include to this topic to increase chance of getting such feature in Stellaris then it's welcomed.

As for how i hope that MP lobby should work:
1. Lobby should display list of existing empires with indicator who played them before
-Player: with player name
-AI: type, indicator for advanced start or any other buffs AI have that would be retained by players.
-Lobby should have option to be player locked, so player could select only his own empire. Selecting other empire require Host permission. This option would be extremely useful for rehost during exploration phase.

2. Selecting empire should show:
- explored territory(without details, as much as see empire that got diplomatic contact) and relations with other empires(alliance, vassalige/protectorate/tributary/rivalry)
- ethos, primary specie, planet count, population count.
- researched techs grouped by type(ex. 10 physics, 7 sociology, 22 engineering) as this can be checked by players anyway(open trade with someone and propose research agreement (use your tech count, add enemy advantage and subtract your advantage)

3. Hotjoin: When player tries to hotjoin as empire that is not played by him earlier then it should show basic info(planets, population, previous controller etc.)for host to let him decide if player should be allowed to pick that empire(to avoid player picking advanced start if there is any)
4. non-blocking Hotjoin: players that could do some stuff during paused caused by rejoin/resync/hotjoin are much less frustrated if they could do some micromanagement in his empire or just watch stuff they didn't have time when time was ticking.
