Perhaps because he game is balanced around these galaxy sizes, mod them larger if you want it.
How will adding another galaxy size ruin scaling of normal maps?Perhaps because he game is balanced around these galaxy sizes, mod them larger if you want it.

What are your toaster specs? Because I'm currently in endgame of STNH playthrough (1600 stars galaxy with literally dozens of empires) and it takes about 1 sec per day even with all galaxy claimed and almost fully colonized. If they fix late game lag, yes. Otherwise I am not a fan of waiting two minutes for each month to pass.
More importantly, what the hell are the specs on your rig that can run stnh that well?!What are your toaster specs? ...on >10yr old rig.
1 sec per day is normal speed, I said earlier normal speed is way too slow. What are your toaster specs? Because I'm currently in endgame of STNH playthrough (1600 stars galaxy with literally dozens of empires) and it takes about 1 sec per day even with all galaxy claimed and almost fully colonized.
...on >10yr old rig.
I didn't joke when I said it's about 10yr old. i5-750, 8Gb DDR3. On fastest it is about 1 sec/day since, like, 2250. It just stopped there and did not go further down since then, and currently I am at 2365. Considering STNH is 1.6x times max systems the game was designed for, it is acceptable speed. Loading a game is a b**ch, though, can take up to 5 minutes (3-4 usually) and it's with SSD.More importantly, what the hell are the specs on your rig that can run stnh that well?!
It must have some absolute beast of a CPU
Year doesn't matter because at endgame everything should be claimed and colonized anyway. Difficulty is GA. And as the only thing that really matters is amount of pops and fleets, and at GA endgame both of those are maxed for pretty much all AI empires, the only thing that matters there is habitable worlds mult. I play at 1x.Also what year you on? What difficulty you on? Those matter more than how many empires are present.
Later years mean more navy cap via research/pops/anchorages/ect.Year doesn't matter because at endgame everything should be claimed and colonized anyway.
Difficulty increases the navy cap AI empires receive.Difficulty is GA. And as the only thing that really matters is amount of pops and fleets,
So you just said when you look at the system you're running at 1 second a day, which is normal speed.and at GA endgame both of those are maxed for pretty much all AI empires, the only thing that matters there is habitable worlds mult. I play at 1x.
e: that speed is when i do not look at galaxy map, i.e. when i'm in a system. On galaxy map it becomes way way worse.
Something is wrong with me, because my game is going faster when on galaxy map, and slower when on systemse: that speed is when i do not look at galaxy map, i.e. when i'm in a system. On galaxy map it becomes way way worse.
I think it depends on what's in the system, like if there is a lot of ships battling.Something is wrong with me, because my game is going faster when on galaxy map, and slower when on systems![]()
I though we were talking about endgame already, duh.Later years mean more navy cap via research/pops/anchorages/ect.
More navy cap means more ships.
More ships means more lag.
This is why the game chugs for the first year after a robot uprising.
Therefore, more fleets/ships. And I already said it is GA, in case you somehow missed it.Difficulty increases the navy cap AI empires receive.
So maybe don't jump to conclusions? And perhaps you shouldn't put words in other people's mouth? I never said 4 seconds/day. It's between 1 and 2 seconds/day depending on amount of things currently in action. Definitely not 2 minutes/month. The only way it could possibly be like that if I was stupid enough to select a large fleet, which would be the same as doing this in vanilla (probably even worse in vanilla since fleets generally consist of more ships there). When looking at the galaxy map it's way, way worse, perhaps 4 seconds a day, which, guess what? Means two minutes a month.
Sooooo uh, thanks for proving my point?
Huge difference between year 2500 and year 2600.I though we were talking about endgame already, duh.
e: let me clarify: the only thing that can change with years in endgame is research:navcap, which for AI would be about 10NC/10 years if not even less. Which is essentially nothing. Everything else is already maxed.
30 days a month, 2 seconds a day is a minute a month. So maybe don't jump to conclusions? And perhaps you shouldn't put words in other people's mouth? I never said 4 seconds/day. It's between 1 and 2 seconds/day depending on amount of things currently in action.
Instead of a larger map, wouldn't it make more sense to keep it the same size, just more dense?
