Yeah, I know the game already chugs a bit during endgame at the largest size, but with all the new empires and content and such that has been added, the option to have a larger galaxy would be nice, if only just so things dont seem so cluttered.
agreed! and maybe in an even larger galaxy we can have all our marouders, fallen empires, curators, leviathans, caravan AND AI empires that can maybe become large enough to pose an actual threat to usYeah, I know the game already chugs a bit during endgame at the largest size, but with all the new empires and content and such that has been added, the option to have a larger galaxy would be nice, if only just so things dont seem so cluttered.
Yeah, that too. Something I've noticed is that a lot of things just get crowded out before they get a chance to do anything.agreed! and maybe in an even larger galaxy we can have all our marouders, fallen empires, curators, leviathans, caravan AND AI empires that can maybe become large enough to pose an actual threat to us![]()
Set the amount of empires to maximum, minus 2, and minus 1 for each fallen empire you enable. This gives enough room for some empires to really grow and pose a threat. Also set hyperlane density to 1.75 because otherwise some empires just get stuck and tiny.Yeah, that too. Something I've noticed is that a lot of things just get crowded out before they get a chance to do anything.
then don't use itIf they fix late game lag, yes. Otherwise I am not a fan of waiting two minutes for each month to pass.
It's a very carriage before the horse idea. Fix the lag so we can play the largest maps before giving us even larger maps.then don't use it![]()
It's a very carriage before the horse idea. Fix the lag so us people with bad PCs can play the largest maps before giving us even larger maps.
To quote a great man: Wroooong.Fixed that for u

Same situation for me, maybe going a bit closer to fast by then, but you can be sure i feel it when one of those robot rebellions pop!I have a pretty top of the line PC, I can indeed play on huge/large maps at fastest during the early game, sure. However once you reach year 2400 it really starts to chug to around the same speed as Normal.
Because you'd want to focus effort on one issue at a time.
Robot uprising in admiral or higher on pretty much any map if the empire is big enough makes the game chug because a billion freaking ships spawn.I think too many people have machines that can barely handle medium galaxies late game never mind larger maps.

I suspect the number of people who could actually play a galaxy larger than 1000 stars is so low that it just isn't worth the Dev time for something that's already served just fine by a multitude of mods.
For the obligatory, "but mah cheevos!" Crowd response to that, get over yourselves, no one cares.
Waste of time to make larger galaxies when no one can play the current largest in late game. Why devs cant make larger galaxies (optional, not forced), and THEN fix late game lag? (If this will not be fixed with 2.2)
