So I've been playing around a little bit with the rules, trying to use them to keep the Umayyads from (ahistorically) conquering the entire Iberian peninsula, and I think that reducing the speed of religious conversion definitely helps. 70 years into my test 867 game the Umayyads had only converted half a dozen counties to Sunni from Catholic.
The only problem was there were almost ZERO provincial (religious) revolts during this time... So even though the revolt risk was higher due to the conflict between Catholic land and Muslim ruler (4% for each of the counties), the Umayyads were still rock solid and barely had any internal threats.
While I appreciate the option to adjust the risk of revolts downards, can we get an option to go the other way? Maybe enough Catholic revolts would slow them down a little, or possibly confine them to the historically-accurate borders?
