can u turn off the restart after exiting a campaign?

There is no credible business case for spending hundreds - maybe even thousands - of engineer-hours on tracking down the issues with imperfect gamestate reset, when "make the game relaunch itself" is a practical and reliable workaround for those issues.
I agree, but calling it 'back', as it says on the button...??? :p

As for attitude, if you had full insight on this code yours wouldn't be different I can guarantee.

It's hard to see that as a valid argument when EU4 is a closed source product that we of course can't look into so that's like saying "well if you knew this secret thing I knew, you'd understand".

Okay maybe? But since we don't have that insight, we're going to operate on the assumptions we see.

I'd simply prefer not to restart when loading a game. If Pdox feel that doing so is necessary, then so be it, they are the ones developing the game that I enjoy. An option to not restart and bear the consequences however, would be ideal for me and possibly other players.
