Literally, just an option to maintain their territories intact while the rest of the world is given new rulers. I find that China is much less proactive and chooses strange targets without an existing territory, and the Papal States should be around for immersion purposes (even though the Pope usually takes power anyway, the main holding of Rome is converted into a castle).

No, it should not be. The primary holding should be what it is in the start you "shatter". A game you shatter down to independent counts should have a count-lvl priest in Rome. I don't think there are options to change this(there are to make all Tribal and Nomadic I think, in Random world but in Shattered world it should always be the same type that´s there in the original start).

No, the options to make everything tribal or nomadic or feudal are for Shattered Worlds. Random Worlds only have options that weight holdings in one direction or the other. You can't get a completely tribal Random World without some incredible luck.

Ok. I have never tride these out. However, if you dont touch these settings, fully shattered world will count-tier version of the startdate you entered. There will be a count- tier bishop in Rome.
