Can someone give me a good reason not to kill all natives in colonies?

Hello!
To create a new colony i need a colonist to send.
Then i need time untill the polulation of the colony reach 1000 people.

Now the question!
With no population system why i need the natives in the colony?
In EUIII when a colony become a city the natives who are alive become citizens.
In EUIV when a colony become a city, with no polulation system i believe the natives disappear.

Is then a good strategy to kill them all and then wait the colony to become a city without worry for
revolts from them.

Unless they were 0-2 you were better off killing them even in EU3. Not sure what the trade-offs in EU4 will be but "clearing the natives" will probably be a good idea.

Good reason not to kill them all is that you´ll almost never have enough resources to do so, especially if you want more than just handful of colonies. So, I´d kill them in the most dangerous ones and try to avoid it in others. As with everything in EU4, it is a tradeoff.

Yes, but is there any reason NOT to kill them?
Do the provinces get some boost from having the natives there?

So far I haven't read about any trade options with natives, that happened historically.
While England used settlers to colonize and claim land, French built their colonial empire by creating alliances with local tribes and profited quite well from fur trade with the locals, and also by having locals help them in military conflicts.

3s were saveable too, and some 4s and 5s. Very few 6s or higher... except in africa where you needed the population or the colonies would never grow.

That was... dark.

But anyway, from a purely gameplay perspective, the extra base tax is more useful in the long term.

Was it said by the devs somewhere that you'll get added base tax for letting them live? I can't remember.

OP asks for good reasons.

Some 20 years back, I read a book by Terry Pratchett called Only you can save mankind. Its premise was that computer game world was an alternate reality. What if the actions you do in an EU4 game shape the history of Earth in an alternate time-space continuum? How would a massacre of thousands of innocent people weigh upon your immortal soul? What if this action condemns you to an eternity in hell after you die? And all of that just because you wanted to speed up colonization of some province in a EU4 game.

damn.. wonder if i have to pay for each battle too? or everytime i sneeze?
Atleast its clear its always more worthwhile to outright annex states than taking them province by province. Each negotiation stealing 25-50 Dip.

Just as i imagined heaven was open with ideas, buildings and staying a few tech levels behind while adding cores, flipping cultures and converting the heathens... but evidently almost all of the steps there will end up costing. Nibbling away at almighty prosperity a few points here and there
