Hi all, just got "An Early Reich" achievement on VH using the OP Brandenburg-Prussia, year is now 1701. Within 120 years, is it still possible to do a Mare Nostrum given this colossal Ottoman Empire? If not I would start a new game, thanks :)

By the way, my manpower is 0 because I just won a bloody war with Otto to defend my new vassal Hungary. I killed more than 1M of them at the cost of ~500k German men. My idea groups are Aristocratic, Econ, Qual, Mari, Off, & Explore, which aren't really optimizing my army (coz I wanted "The Traditionalist" achievement and a great navy for role-playing reason LOL). My troops are of top quality in Europe but by no way Space Marines against other Majors.

You could do a non-one-tag WC from that position if you have CC and Rev desaster under your belt.

Shouldn't ask us if you can do it, ask yourself instead.

If Ottomans had no army I surely could do it, all other armies/navies are just walkovers. Even though I am short on manpower now, I can beat France/Spain/GB/Tuscany easily by spamming merc and my losses won't be too huge anyway.

Out of the 500k casualties in that great war against the Ottomans, 20% of them were dead whilst trying to capture a mountainous Transylvanian fort. Waves after waves of Muslim men stormed my position until the end. The problem is that they have absolutely insane manpower and almost infinite cash reserve, so they were continuously reinforcing and prevented many stack wipes. IMO, a Prussian army that can't stack wipe is only a very strong army, not an invincible one.

Yeah its doable, but be prepared to do total war with 200 OE funzies. Luckily most of your lands are german and/or accepted cultures. Drop Exploration at very minimum, take admin or influence (probably influence seeing as you'll need to do vassal feeding and you'll need the admin points).

How large is your army and navy?

Is your income essentially infinite at this point or not?

I dobt that you could manage it. Their would be too many truce timers and the wars would be very costly in time. It is important to remember you have to conquer provinces in North Africa as well.

It's only a few provinces in Africa. Anatolia, France and Masrhiq are the problem. Muslim AE won't be an issue, so trucebreaking Ottomans is the way to go. The rest are 1-4 wars, easily manageable within the given timeframe, even without trucebreaking.

You can do it with time to spare. If you had half your current development you could squeak in before 1821.

Make sure to take admin, humanist and influence. I would drop exploration right away if I were you, especially if you already have a couple CNs.

Edit: and drop maritime as well, you really don't need it for your goals.

You need to restore your manpower somehow. It's gonna be very rough without it. But in my experience, a Prussian-German army of your size is more than enough to take on the Ottos. I played only 1 Brandenburg>Prussia game and i literally didn't lose any battle from 1444 to 1821. Militarize as much as you can without sacrificing your mil progress too much. If you have income to spare, you'd most likely want as less action on your soil as possible, so i suggest that you build a wall of forts around your vital cores. You can pull it off, but to me it would be a challange. I rarely declare on low manpower, let alone as a superpower with 100+k troops and 0 manpower. Worst thing you can do is not try though :) Allying Russia would help you a lot before you betray them and take the Black Sea from them in the endgame.
