Can Legion distinctions/dishonours be changed or removed?

One of my Legions got the Trepida dishonour which gives the legion -15% to army morale, which is obviously a pretty big hit. Im wondering if anyone knows whether if I were to win a bunch of battles with this legion that would be removed or replaced with a new one (representing them recovering from that lose and gaining a new reputation). Would be a bummer if there is no way to remove it, would mean I now have an entire Legion that is tremendously gimped.

I'm pretty sure they're permanent. You could gain new positive traditions, but you can't lose the old negative ones (but on the flip side you can't lose your positive ones either). The only fix is to disband the entire legion and found a new one.

Indeed, after getting the malus as Rome I ran to sack a Duidic holy site to remove it. Lol

Btw, you can also lose Pia again and get Impia. Its a circle.

The only fix is to disband the entire legion and found a new one

What, really? I don't think it's supposed to do that. Someone should file a bug report.

I was in a game with Athens, I never lost any battle with my legion... And boom, one retreat and I get " Trepida ". Has anyone found out how to remove it ? I think this malus should least 10 years, or removed when the legion won a great victory, or something else... I don't understand why it stays permanently, even more when you win all you battles afterwards with the same legion...

Trepida is the prime offender because it doesn't take context into consideration. Losing due to morale starvation after seeing off eight other armies can net it just the same as retreating from an evenly matched foe with a better general. I do think some 'sins' should wash out over time - Roman history has plenty of examples of Legions working hard to redeem themselves for some particular shame.

For this reason i never retreat with legions. I dont know i would maybe make honors and dishonrs not permanet. Something like 20 years. Of course i love to see 10 honors in my legion. But for the poor Ai its not very balanced.

The most stupid thing is that you get trepida even when retreating from a 1:10 (strength wise) battle

Legion distinctions definitely need some tweaking.

Clear information needs to be given if a distinction is permanent and if/how it can be undone.

Take Impia for example. Someone in the thread mentioned it can be undone by sacking a Holy Site of another religion? No information in the game to indicate this though.

It is not a very good mechanic if the player has to guess.

If/when negative distinctions occur, the player should be presented with information as to how a Legion can redeem itself.

If you don't care about achiements you should be able to save the game with debug mode and edit the save file with a text editor.

No, the only dishonor you can get rid of is Impia as far as I know.

According to the Imperator Wiki the only dishonnor that can be modified is the sacking of holy places one.

No there's no way to remove that.

Does it by any chance allow you to for instance to somehow deal with a problem in which the game is CTDing trying to award a distinction to a legion that doesn't exist except as, like, a ghost legion? I appreciate it's a very outside ask.
