Seen all the press about the game, but not this topic. The question has actually been asked twice in the Dev. Dia. but with no answer from the Dev's.

Please P'dox, put the manual up for DL so we can be ready, come Monday :)

Cheers,

I read the manual yesterday and didn't notice anything about Leader casualties.

That's a bit strange, isn't it?

Yeah a bit. I could see where Napoleon or Wellington might be simply wounded for several weeks/months but the lower level Generals should have a slight chance for death.

I hope it is in,- it would bring great flavour to the game having KIA- and WIA-results for the lower commanders.

Also being WIA and not fully recovering, resulting in overall lower stats for the commander and maybe loosing some special abillities.

Many Generals did loose their life, or was forced to resign their command due to wounds.

No, they cannot be KIA or WIA.

To bad, then you can teleport your best Generals to every battle in the game, without having to worry about leader casualties.

Is there any hope of this to be changed in a future update?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm imagining there is some sort of punishment for removing a general from command over his men.

Thats abit disappointing. As a Britain, I know the impact of a dying hero fighting the French menace!
*points to Admiral Nelson.

It's abit silly to not have leaders die, it's part of war, and it's fun(I think) to have to rethink plans or campaigns upon the death of the prospective commander.

The only thing that really bothers me is that Leader Casualties is taken out of the game!
That means, I can teleporte my top four Generals to every important battle, and never fear any bad happens to them. This takes a lot of realism and flavour out of the game, and I hope this will be changed in the future.

Hell, I would even pay for a DLC called "Lazarette Napoleon" where Commanders get's KIA or WIA and has to recover at home, or resign their command due to wounds

You could protect important figures like Napoleon, Wellington and Blucher and make sure they only get WIA, but any Commander lower than that, should have a chance of KIA in battle.

I can remember at least 9 French top-Generals that was killed in action between 1807-15, so it really should be in the game.

A guy like Marshal Oudinot was wounded at least 22 times during Napoleon!

Anyway, can't wait to Monday...

Cheers,

I have the same enthusiasm as BodyBag but it seems a gross oversight to have a state of affairs where Nelson and everyone else commanding men is immortal... I hope it gets patched in or DLC'd in soon.

This is a bit disappointing. I guess it also means that there will be the same leaders from 1805 to 1820 with no casualties but also no new ones? Or do new ones arrive during the game?

I also hope leader casulaties are added in an update or able to be added through a mod. It just seems like a very large oversight.

I would also be in favor of KIA/WIA, but would make it fairly rare.

I assume one of the problems with KIA/WIA leaders; is generating new leaders and the loss of historical flavor...
Would I like Waterloo if all the armies are led by unknown promoted Majors/Col's or no one (if everyone's dead)?
