Im unsure about what you mean.
But the answer is probably yes.

You can delete old equipment from the stockpile
And you can remove planes from the map and move them into the stockpile.

I do wonder why you think old planes crash the game, please explain.

I belive that too many planes crash the game, because around 1945-1946 the game start's crashing repeatedly.
to fix it i annexed, then released all my puppets, so it delete's their ships, planes, equipment stockpile.Doing that stopped crashing my game.
Now that i know how to delete equipment, i just need to switch to the other nations from time to time and delete some of their equipment.

It sound to me like that is either a bug or that you have a computer that can not handle the strain.
My cpu I5 9500F, my gpu is GTX 1660 Super and i have 16 gb of ram. So i don't realy think that my pc could cause the game to crash, an dthe game runs nearly at the same speed in 1946 as 1936.
I don't belive it's one of my mods because i had this same problem when i was going for the achivment One Empire.
So it must be a bug.
