Can I change my heir's last name to my Dynasty's last name?

Say for example I had a female ruler, and I married someone outside my family matrilineally, and the resulting children of said marriage had my Dynasty but the last name of the non-Dynasty husband, would it be possible, without cheating, to change said children's last name to the Dynasty's last name? I already know I could simply have a daughter, then have her marry someone with the Dynasty's last name, which would create the desired affect AT SOME POINT, but for the former situation is anything possible to the effect I'm describing?

Just for clarification, with last name do you mean stuff like the Norse "Egilsdottir" thing? Or the actual family name with the Coat of Arms and everything?

To do this, one needs to buy the "Crusader Kings II: Customization Pack". It will let you change family names and coat of arms (also hair style and beard).

The big thing to remember is that last names aren't really a thing back in the middle ages. So, what you see as a "last name" is most likely either a place name (if landed) or a patronymic.

The patronymic is "son of Bob" or "daughter of Bob" in the appropriate culture's language. So, that can't be changed until they're landed ("of Paris") but it also doesn't affect dynasty.

When I say 'Dynasty last name' I mean coat of arms, such as Capet and de Normandie, as opposed to inherited from the child's father 'last names', so for example a male character called Michael Bay having a son who's last name would consequently be Bay.
