So through great skill (read: married my marshal to a random junior princess and got lucky) I managed to wed into the Hungarian succession as a Byzantine duke. The Hungarian kings grandson and heir is a landless greek Arpad in my court married to my daughter matrilineally. The second in line is their son, my grandson, a proper greek of the Tournikes dynasty. Now I know that my grandson will inherit so long as he doesn't die young. But can he inherit in such a way that he brings Hungary inside the Byzantine empire along with him? I am only a duke, not emperor so vassalizing the king isn't an option. I tried making the heir a vassal of the emperor then using the console to kill the hungarian king but that just made the new king leave the empire and take his lands with him. I suppose I could switch to elective secession so I play as the grandson and swear fealty to the emperor, but I'd rather play as the son who I've groomed for the job. So does anyone have any suggestions on how to bring the kingdom into the fold?
