Germany starts leading a faction. It's likely they can disband and recreate it to rename it whatever they want, like Daniel did with Japan.

I think you can, I assume you will prescribe to a more global, stricter sense of the Communist ethos and purge the false leaders in Moscow?

There is information on this in the World War Wednesday videos.

- Yes, Germany can create factions at start. If I recall correctly (do not quote me on this), there were 2 countries from start that are allowed by game mechanics to create a faction (as said by Daniel or someone else), which means that an existing faction can be left/disbanded and replaced with a new one. Germany was mentioned as one of the nations, I think UK was the other.

- You can create a faction by using the "Create a faction" (or whatever it was called) diplomatic option when interacting with another country, so it probably means you need to have at least 1 additional nation to start a faction with. Puppets will always accept the faction founding request, while other nations have various modifiers.

This is what I've gathered from the videos and remember from my memory, correct me if I'm wrong.

In the USA dev diary, it's said that US has a national spirit that allows them to create factions (but disallows joining factions led by other ideologies).

Nations either start with the ability to create factions (if they start with one for example like the UK, Germany and Soviet Union) or they unlock it through national focuses. You can disband factions (if you are the only one in it, ilcluding your puppets of course) and create new ones straight away, since you started with the abillity to form one.

How would one...'disband' a faction? Is there a specific button to do so, or is it like...get a national focus which just instantly removes it when the focus is complete, etc? I liked how in HOI 3 mods, if you were, let's say France. You could simply hit a button under the national decisions, and then boom you'd be gone. No waiting, just purely a button that lets you leave, etc.

If I recall correctly from the Japan WWW it was a button somewhere that said "Disband Faction" though I can't remember where it was.
