I know that in the past, it was possible to convert a game from EU into Victoria, and then indo HOI 2 Doomsday. Thus it is possible to grow an empire from humble beginnings up into relatively current times. I never actually did that, but it is high on my list of things to do some day.

I just now purchased Victoria 2. It was on sale, and was something I couldn't pass up considering the many hours of entertainment I got from Revolutions.

So, I'm asking if it is possible to convert save games from EU to Victoria 2 to HOI3 Semper Fi?

Well put me on the list of interested parties. I would definitely be willing to purchase such a thing as down-loadable content if Paradox were to go that route to fund development.

I was actually thinking the same thing, so I told people at the office about this idea (which naturally is not new.) The problem is that this conversion would almost certainly break the game(s).

Imagine playing Bohemia in EU3. This country does not even exist in Victoria 2. Which events should there be in the game? What would their ideology be? What would happen if your country owns every single province with a certain kind or resource in the beginning of Victorian era? And when converting to HOI... What would happen in about the annexation of Chechoslovakia if neither Czechoslovakia nor Germany existed? Who would be the Axis? How fun would the game be if you owned the whole world in year 1800? What would you do after that?

Well, usually, those f us who want to play mega-campaigns (even starting with CK :p ... in my case, it's rather CK - EUIII - Vicky2) like to role-play... walking the fine line of letting some IA nations rival us... to keep interesting opponents. A nice example is Mr Capiatlist's Prussia AAR.

For the ideology, from EUIII to V2, one could imagine have it based on sliders and national ideas. Have Bohemia become Chechoslovakia... creating the new nation if necessary.

I would definitely (depending on the price of course :p ) be willing to buy working Paradox CK-EUIII and EUIII-Vicky2 converters. Possibly, get the help of some modders ;)

I quite agree. I would pay for converters to let me keep games going. I don't care about world conquests and just like playing a nation through, like you could on the Europa series. I don't think anyone expects a 'perfect' switch between the games (if they are, they are fooling themselves) but something would be nice :)

Ditto,

As for convertability, it's a long time ago now, but I remember when Johan put out an EU2 patch that added a load of CK countries to the game to ease the problem.

I'd love it if that sort of thing could be added on a sort of 'spare time' basis..
