can aztecs invade if I bought the DLC halfway through a 1.8 game?

well, thread title please

I started a byz game. the cataphracts are so awesomely overpowered that its 1200 now, and I have italy, sicily, egypt, abyssinina, africa, cumania, georgia, croatia, persia.... etc. pretty much half the world. and I stopped using levies a while ago; 15k of retinues are enough to kill everything and anything, and I have a few stacks of these.

and I now have 100k gold, lying around (minimum levies / high taxes).

hopefully I'll defeat mongols as well (side question; will a 50k cataphract retinue be enough to kill their doomstacks, or will I get slaughtered )

anyway, I don't want to restart the game since this took some work. if I buy the dlc and activate it now, will the aztecs invade?

Yes, they can arrive at any point from 1250 onward.

Well, not exactly. The Invasion events require the Bead Trader event to fire, and that can only fire from 1250 to 1350. Since you're only at ~1200 though, you're good.
