I watched some gameplay videos and Germany still does around maginot as fast as they humanly can with no logic behind it whatsoever. Do I even need to describe my arguments for this? There's already probably a million threads on this.

Sometime the stubbornness of the Dev is beyond understandable, there was request from the community to include the "No Man Land" mod from day one, and they kept ignoring until one year after the release. This is the same for the "Around Maginot" focus.

Better yet, make smarter AI so they don't just always use any war-goal available just because they can.

Oh, what's that? You're playing as Germany and defeated both the Comintern AND Allies before USA could join them. Oh, you even developed the A-bomb first? Well, guess, what America has a war-goal against you itchin' to be used. WWIII COMMENCES: that is to say, America's war against the entire world.

Same thing happened to me in a game as USSR. Beat Germany by 1942. Puppeted all of Europe. Allies declare war on my puppet Germany and thus on me. :/

I don't like this idea, in fact I don't like the fact that "War with France" is locked behind "Danzig or War"; in my latest Germany playthrough I went to war over Czechoslovakia and France and England joined in, but I could only pick the "Around Maginot" focus after going for the Danzig one, thus forcing me to go to war with Poland too.
Having Germany beat France before bothering with Poland doesn't seem so much of a stretch to me. As long as it does it sensibly-- and locking the "Around Maginot" focus behind war with Poland doesn't help that!

I've seen AI Germany justify on Belgium and Luxemburg manually when they're at war with France.

I disagree with the idea of locking around maginot focus, because if Germany is a player declaring on Poland and Netherlands at the same time is a valid strategy, because it makes the whole Europe conquest time smaller. waiting until Poland has fallen to only START doing AM is not really blitzkriegish. It's better to make ai smarter not lock things down so ai just physicaly can't do stupid stuff

How is AI Germany going around Maginot while at war with poland more suicidal than it frontally attacking Maginot while at war with Poland?
Going around maginot opens up an entirerly new fronts which forces AI to divert troops away from Poland.
In worst cases it means that the war will become a stalemate.

Yeah, I don't mind being able to invade countries in the order of my choice, so I'm nots sure if forcing Around Maginot to be behind things is the best solution for this.

As a stop-gap, I suppose it could work. Like how in hindsight they could possibly have implemented the No Man's Land mod while they tried to solve the "Battle of Sahara" problem.
