Sure there is. You just tell them to stop plotting.

I don't think I have ever been assassinated with the 'stop all plots' command on, combined with a not terrible intrigue score. I have lost a fair amount of battle field duels against inferior enemies.
So it can be a little more tedious, but if you don't toggle that option then you can micromanage to keep asking plot participants to stop backing someone's plot (for a stackable opinion bonus "discovered backing plot"). The plot leader can be imprisoned and ransomed/banished or whatever, but your vassals and courtiers begin to love you (/be terrified of you) and will happily join all your plots.

Huh. I have rarely played the 'intrigue' game in any of of my games before. So far the only use I have seen for intrigue was discovering other people's plots.

I'll try it out.
Yeah its a lot of fun, intrigue focus can help mostly with vicious rumours and the odd kidnapping, but seduction actually seems better for pulling off lots of assassinations.

I actually hardly ever use the "stop all plots" checkbox because if someone is backing a plot and refuses to stop backing it you may revoke one of their titles. But then they still won't stop backing a plot, so you can revoke one title. And suddenly they are landless
Works best if someone tries to fabricate a claim on YOUR titles but people who hate you are likly to join those plots
