A simple idea. Why not give the player the option to name wars and have campaigns. If a player starts a war, it would be possible to edit the name of the war.

I thought of the idea when I was playing Byzantium in 788 and started multiple wars in southeast Europe to reclaim 1-2 provinces from each of them. In reality all the little wars were part of one campaign to reclaim part of the lost empire, not "the 2nd holy war ...", etc.

1. The possibility to edit the name of the war from the warscore screen.
2. The ability to link several ongoing wars together into a campaign.

I envision this as very simple. Each war would still have its own screen and resolution with no changes needed. Each warscore screen would have two added options in its interface: "create campaign" and "link campaign". Creating a campaign would provide a screen with the option to name the campaign and linking a campaign would obviously link wars together. On the main game screen linked wars would show a line between them to mark that they are part of one major campaign. There might be some penalty to failing to complete all wars in that campaign in victory and a small bonus to winning them all. The main benefit to the campaign would be just for fun. After the last war won in a campaign a text box would appear to show that you won the campaign and go down in the chronicles.
