It just struck me that I've not been able to negotiate for salvage when I take on campaign missions. Is that the way the game is set up, or did I miss something?
Campaign missions are non negotiable?

You're not missing anything, the rewards for campaign missions are fixed.

The Campaign missions tend too have Very large Cbill payouts and sometimes a special piece of equipment ( Not sure if you have gotten it yet so no spoilers )

I found the campaing missions monetarily most rewarding and you get potent hardware at times too plus salvage.
Depending on the amount of mechparts (you may have set via mod to build a complete mech between 3 and 8 mechparts afaik) you can even get complete Mechs from salvage in this campaign missions occasionally.
