camera stutter

the camera constantly stutters when i'm moving it around, it does it with and without mods (it's worse with mods but still very bad without). I already tried restarting my pc, uninstalling the game, verifying the game files and moving it to my ssd and none of it worked.

any other things i can do?

Has this always happened for you? Or only since when?

Does time pass smoothly in the game or also stutter?

Do you have a similar problem with CK3?


DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/pdx_settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log

it started happening recently, never had it before

time passes smoothly, it's just the camera

don't have it in ck3, but my framerate is a little bit inconsistent (on the highest speed) which didn't happen before i think (i don't play that much ck3)

Recent patch released dates are:

Did the onset of this problem coincide with any of those?


However i see no cause for this problem in those files. Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Imperator
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Imperator AND Documents/Paradox/Imperator folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add imperator.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Imperator or Documents Imperator locations, before installing again.

i think it might have worked or it's atleast not as bad as before.

I don't know for sure but i think it might have started after i updated my drivers but i'm not sure
