So recently I am playing as the Mamluks=>Caliphate game and I'm allied with France. France is such an important ally to me in order to use it to conquer Spain. But recently, France declared a succession war against Austria which I have truce with. They didn't call me in at first, but they got into a defensive war against Great Britain which calls me in. But the problem is, the current multiple wars system called me in to both wars, so I got the -5 stab hits. This should be changed as soon as possible.

You wont be called in if your ally starts an offensive war against someone with which you have a truce.
You will be called in defensive wars.
If you be called in for some war, you joins all wars. Even if this is an offensive war against someone with which you have a truce.

This could lead to you problem. Not joining all wars or not getting a stab hit seems the best solution.

Or just let you call allies into specific wars instead of every war. This largely renders allies useless for those of us who expand rapidly by fighting multiple wars, since the AI won't ever join you due to the would be called into multiple wars malus, even when the AI couldn't be called into some of them in the first place, which means that there's really only one war it'd be called into. It does add some strategy as to when you declare wars so you can bring the correct ally in to feed, but most of the time it's just a nuisance. I don't need to call in Spain against random Indian tags--just let me call them in against France.

The annoying thing for me is that when two of my allies decide to tear each other apart I dont get to pick sides. Same for the AI. Why must it always go to the defender if it doesn't suit it?
