Do we know already how it is calculated?

All footage taken from WWW Japan (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXPP1eiy0AQ), from around 17:00 ongoing.

Since the last WWW where Daniel showed the Division designer, I have some Trouble´with how to calculate the actual amount of ORG your Units will have. Examples:

upload_2016-3-28_12-1-42.png

We see here a quite large Division of 4 batallions full of INF. It has 42.8 ORG, including 6.4 Malus from two Support companies. This means, with a base value of 40, each batallion would add 2.3 ORG to the Division. However, we see that one Group in the last batallion only adds 0.5 (due to displayreasons I guess it actually is rounded, real value should be 0.4666...). So the last batallion adds 1.4. You'll notice I assume that ORG is added per batallion, not per group in it. That seems to be the only way the numbers addup anyhow.

So if the last batallion adds 1.4 and it should be 2.3 in average, we know nearly enough to have a formula. We Need an assumption about the type of function. For simplicity, I assume that each batallion adds a fixed value less than the previous. This yields only one possible solution:

4th batallion: 1.4
3rd batallion: 2
2nd batallion: 2.6
1st batallion: 3.2
SUM 9.2
SUPPORT: -6.4
BASE:40
RESULT: 42.8

So far so good. But now for another example:

The smaller Japan Division:

upload_2016-3-28_12-12-17.png

They have 41.6 in total, with -3.2 from Support. Should be 4,8 ORG added by INF. Problem is, this does not add up with the previous values. This time, it seems to be:

2nd batallion: 1.6
1st batallion: 3.2

Additionally, the tooltip here seems to follow a different logic than before. Or maybe, the engineer Support Company takes not 3.2 ORG but more/less?

This gets even worse when Daniel later adds a light tank batallion, Messing the values up even more. So right now, I guess the tooltips are wrong or misleading? Anyone has thoughts on this?

I think it work like this:
  1. Sum the org of all battalion (both support and combat)
  2. Divide by the number of battalions (both support and combat)
  3. The value you get is your divisions org.
Infantry have more org then recon and engineers so adding more infantry will increase the org of the division.

ORG is an average.
A divison with pure infantry has a fixed ORG because they are all the same. Adding a support unit which has lower ORG therefore reduces the ORG for the division.
Same goes for ARMOR and PIERCING.

So you basically say the Division org is an average of values we don't actually see in the game? Great idea with the advantage of being simple. I tried to fit those visible numbers into something but this seems much more promising.

If that is true, these number should be visible somewhere on release, e.g. the base ORG of INF.

However, this can also be done manually since we have two data points. Given this approach, the base ORG should be:

INF: 50
Support Companies: 0
Marines: 60
Armored (in WWW stream Japan): 100
Artillery: 10

Neglecting some rounding issues (I guess the values are rounded down per default), this fits. Thank you for the suggestion.
