Can CAG's be upgraded like other aircraft, or are they like ships and never upgrade. If they can upgrade, do you have to unassign them from their CV to do so?

Thanks in advance... I need all the help I can get in this Jap vs. USA naval battle.

They upgrade like Land and Air units. Not sure if the ship needs to be in Port, but the CAG certainly does NOT need to be detached... in fact, I don't think Naval Brigades CAN be detached once assigned.

With Version 1.2 they (or any other Naval Brigade) don't have to be in port to upgrade. With the 1.3 (Beta) they do have to be in port at 0:00 to upgrade.

That certainly makes sense for all the Naval Brigades _EXCEPT_ CAGs. CAGs were constantly replenished and upgraded while the CVs were out at sea... that was the primary mission of the massive numbers of CVEs that the US built. :)
