1) So I played CK2 once sometime back and then rage quit after losing my entire duchy to the Muslims and treacherous vassals. Seeing that the mac version was now available I reinstalled it a day or two ago and started a new game. Since I was stomped into the dust the last time, I decided to set the settings to very easy and started up a game as the big blue blob, France.

Its now 1080 and I, Phillipe le Magne, Le Roi de France, am at the apex of my power. I have added the counties of Chartres and Blois to my demesne and revoked the Duchies of Burgundy and Champagne from my treacherous vassals who tried to have me replaced. Recently I noticed that the Duchy of Flandres was in danger of passing out of my realm. I don't know why this is, but I suspect its because the heir is a Marshal or Chancellor or something in the court of a county outside of my realm.

So I decide to take action and Fabricate claims on the duchy and the county of Flandres. Unfortunately it seems I can't revoke the title because the HRE doesn't have the requisite Crown authority. I assume this is because they are still de Jure part of the HRE? If this is not a bug what can I do about this?

2) William the Bastard conquered England and took Normandy with him. He then proceeded to lose to Harald Hadrada and now Normandy is in liege to Norway! I intend to retake it. Together me and my vassals can raise around 11k troops. Will this be enough to beat Norway or should I look for allies. The Byzantine Emperor is my brother's father-in-law. Off course he is probably too far off to help me in any meaningful way.

3) I can't click on the retinue tab. Is this because I don't have Legacy of Rome?

4)De Jure drift: How does it work?

IIRC it happens if you hold a Duchy where the De Jure kingdom isn't formed. I won't swear to it though, but that's what I seem to recall.

If it's that early in the game you'll most likely be able to Roflstomp Norway into Iceland with that army.

The duchy of Flanders, if in the HRE de jure territory ( I can't recall right now ) and not in France's de jure territory, will follow the HRE's crown authority if I recall correctly, or it might simply be that you don't have enough crown authority in the kingdom of France without knowing it.

Cant I do anything about this? Also why is it in danger of passing out of my vassalage? The heir is the son of the current heir. He does hold a position (i.e. Marshal or something else) in the county of Hainaut, but surely that can't be the reason.

Whats early? Its 1080, so about 20 years into the game.

No I improved my CA to Low CA and it allowed revocation. Thats how I got the Duchies of Burgundy and Champagne.

It's hard to say without looking at your specific situation, but on inheritance and vassalage in general:

If you inherit multiple titles, you will be a vassal to the liege of your predecessor for your highest ranking title. If multiple titles of the same rank are inherited, the first one wins. If somebody's inheritance would cause a title to leave a realm with high crown authority, they are removed from the line of succession.

What is probably happening is that the heir to Flanders is also the heir to another duchy. If he inherits this other duchy first, Flanders will pass from your realm when he inherits it. To prevent this, kill the duke of Flanders before his other predecessor dies. Then, instead of losing Flanders, you will gain the other duchy. You can check what he's heir to by mousing over his portrait.
