I'm pleased to announce that v0.83 SP and v0.83 MP are now available for download. This patch includes previously released patches and can be installed either directly on a v0.8 or on an already patched (v0.81 / v0.82) installation. Please make sure you download the right version for your type of installation, below you can find links for SP, MP and Mac.

Note: Applying this patch will break any games in progress (CTD on load). Please finish any ongoing game before applying this patch.

Hehehe Im first to post after release, great work steel.

first two post, everyone must be asleep.

Anyway our Anzac group will be testing this soon in MP, we've had a break for a month or two due to holidays. We have a great game in vanillia going with 6 people as a warm up. Next new game CORE 0.83MP.

Does this have the same tech setup as v0.8 does? And has something been done to refix Communist China? (No territorial demands is ruining my AAR :( ) And has there been anything done to give back territory to allies? Seeing Australia and the U.S. both controlling parts of the Phillipines permanately is silly.

Because, quite frankly, I'm about ready to flip back to vanilla HoI 1.05 and CORE 0.6.

If you are playing CHC then I would recommend removing the comments in the INC file that disable the national provinces for the Communists. This change was done in order to prevent certain AI problems, for a human player it's better to remove those comments before starting the game. For a game in progress you can edit the save game to add the claims.

Kevin Mc Carthy is working on a complete overhaul of how the Phillipines are handled in the game.
 
Just a nitpick thing (since it seems you guys are always fixing minor stuff in the text.csv its time for me to contribute): In the text.csv there are about 50 or so errors where receive is spelled as recieve (I always find this whenever I personally translate the text.csv file from the British-ized english to American english, but I don't think that 'recieve' is supposed to be spelled that way in the British-European english)
Found another error in the text.csv: In the CEVTDESC_602040 section, established is spelled incorrectly as 'establised'


Found another bug, this is what is shown in my event log (self explanatory):
1936-10-26 : 1:00 November 27, 1936 : Finland had CEVTNAME_1002142 .

What's your question about tech? Some countries have had a few changes, some techs have diffferent effects now... but I'm not clear what you mean about 'tech setup'.

A dozen hands off tests of the current PHI/JAP/USA set-up showed me that the 0.82 approach was at least better and more historical than previous versions. Can you be more specific?

They should.. there might be a few "bugs" (e.g., sometimes they will update the numbers designating ship types, so your heavy cruisers might become light cruisers, and your Panzer IIIs might be Panzer IVs).. but it should work.
 
I didn't see this mentioned and I've been meaning to post about this too but haven't gotten around to it until now.

In the Self Propelled Anti-Air 40 & 50 mm (techs 14984 & 14986 respectively) there is no adjustment to the Air Attack or Air Defense modifiers but there is in the 30mm.

I haven't looked at v0.83 yet but it's that way in v0.82.

Also, has there been some purpose to the 150 mm tank gun added or has it been removed?
 
I haven't gotten around to really trying out 0.83, mainly because I found it overwrote Vanilla HOI techs and events, causing Vanilla HOI to crash in the '36 Scenario, and make things look very strange in the other scenarios. :mad:

The MP version overwrites original files, the SP version leaves them intact (with exception of province.csv). If in doubt you can have two separate HoI installs, one with C.O.R.E. and the other without.

Or do it like me! I have one HoI vanilla install, one HoI Core install, one HoI Core MP install, one HoI Core test install & a HoI vanilla backup directory so I can always make a new one. :D
