Would you be willing to write up a summary of the conferences in English that could be used as descriptions for events? I might give up on Argentina as a lost cause, but in the past couple of games that I watched Bolivia joined the Axis as well. Who knows what Brazil would have done (they were loyal members of a neutral US at that point). It seems like the Axis does a lot of recruiting in South America once the first part of the war ends IMO. MDow

Regarding Brazil: the brazilian government was even more autocratic paternalist than Argentina's, afaik. In fact, i think it was almost a fascist government. Curious things about history: they joined the allies and fought in Italy to defeat fascism while at home there was a repressive government. They fought bravely side by side with the americans against the fascist italians and the germans in italy. I think HoI should reflect this fact somehow, because i never saw Brazil joining the war in HoI.
yep, i am trying to work on that for the next version of CORE...Originally posted by pimparel
I think that the CORE Team should replicate the entrance of Brazil in the war with a couple of scripted events were GER and USA offer tech and IC in exchange of alliance.
Cause as you said Brazil was THE autocratic paternalist nation of S.A. and even so joined the allies! Why?
The USA regarding politics, created a way of acting to saveguard their "backyard". To us they offered industrial techs and credit to start the industrialization process in exchange of a US operated base on Pernambuco (granting military access), which they used as a point to cross the atlantic and escape of the GER subs.
So the event should be scripted as a option to GER and USA to economic influence Brazil, if it is OK. Brazil should choose if they you accept their help or stay neutral. The acceptance of allegiance should be rewarded with industrial techs, a creation of commerce convoys oil vs rubber, increase of IC, and maybe some Warfare Doctrines. The other side should loose supplies and gain an ally.
Imagine a Axis Brazil on S.A.!!! or a clash of forces by the almost always Argentina+Bolivia Axis vs Allied Brazil.

I am not sure if a war will be good there...
According to my sources, an armistice was signed on june 12th of 1935 and, in 1936 in Buenos Aires, both countries agreed the final peace settlement.
So, i am not sure if this is right...![]()
yes, but how will you manage to simulate that in HoI?? only as a flavour event...Originally posted by Ghost_dk
We should really do something on this. i fould a lot of reference on especially the US-Mexican crisis regarding this and also Bolivia Nationalised the US companies opereating there.

as i have said, it was only a political meeting to agree the final settlement for peace, but the war stopped on 1935...Originally posted by Ghost_dk
Well final settlement was 21 january 1936
if the fighting stopped 1935 ill just add them as political events
the next dates are off my head so here it goes
summer 1937 governments of bolivia and paraguay ratify the settlement
some time 1938
both countries recognize the others right to exist![]()
Ghost_dk
Ill write up the events and post them here and then we can have a poll before adding them. How about that![]()

A side note: Saavedra Lamas, argentine foreign minister, received a Peace Nobel Prize n 1938 because of his work to solve the Chaco war conflict.
i think it is a good option for tha player...Originally posted by MateDow
I am polishing my US Intervention in Central American country X events. I have put in an option in the fourth event of the chain to have country X approach Germany for support from an overbearing Germany. Does anyone think that this is an unreasonable option? I figure it would have a less than 1% chance of happening in an AI controlled game, but would be a nice option for a fiercely independent human player. MDow
