Those events aren't going in CORE. That is simply for my use as I have taken all of Korea and the USSR is being defeated.

Trouble in Syria
I have been reading a little about the French syrian political crisis in 1936, but without finding any great detail.
This is what I know:
February 36
Due to the political unrest in Syria, France decides to disband and outlaw the nationalist party in Syria. this leads to demonstrations in the country and France declares martial law in Syria.
March 36
In response to the martial law the syrians declare a general strike to put pressure on France.
april(I think)
France backs down and allows the party. A little later the nationalist form a new government in Syria.
Here is the question:
In the Syrian minister file i see an ellection in 36. Is this to show this situation? I would think that it would be more fun to put France in the situation of allowing the party and loose a lot of influence(3-4) or come down hard on them and cause general strike and dissent in Syria. (Less production, less troops to aid france in africa.)
If you guys are up to it i can write up the events but i need to know which ministers to use for the nationalists, they are probably in the ministers files but i dont know which ones so i need a little help here.

Basically the elections in 1936 reflect the rise of the nationalists to power in '36 after the General Strike. Perhaps an event to trigger in early 36 to represent the French crackdown could be done, but not too high dissent on Syria as after the '36 elections there was a great deal of popular support that the new govt. would successfully lead Syria towards independence the way Egypt and Iraq had been heading under the British. In the end it would be the French who would backtrack with the reimposition of tighter control in '39 (see the events I wrote to deal with that).

What about events for a communist turkey? since they were good friends up to 45 when stalin demanded kars and rights on bosphorus
Er no they were not buddy buddy....there was some cooperation between Lenin and Mustafa Kemal during the Turkish War of Independence but after the mid-1920s there was a great deal of tension as Kemal began to repress leftists as he consolidated his hold over Turkey, culminating in the banning of the Turkish Communist Party in I believe 1926. The Soviets, if I am remembering correctly, were not part of the Montreux Convention of 1936 allowing the remilitarization of the Bosphorus which rankeld greatly on Stalin since it made the potential for Soviet shipping to be blocked from the Mediterranean all that much greater. After 1924 it is probably correct to say that relations were "correct" and Kemal did find the industrialization program launched by Stalin in 1928 a model to launch Turkey's own industrialization under state sponsorship after 1930 but they were definitely not "chums' in any sense of the word as the Turks viewed Stalin's USSR as Russia in red garb out after control of the Bosporus and Dardanelles. The AI in HoI I think gives the Soviets too much influence in Turkey and needs to have more UK & FRA influence (and GER influence).
Is there going to be a tech to simulate the brittish attack of the pro-germany regime in iraq?
I dont know of a single Middle Eastern State that at the least didn't trust the Soviet Union's intentions.
I don't recall the event name, but the partition of Persia by the UK & USSR AIs never goes well. Persia is still fighting both the commies and the allies 12+ months layer.

Running my own business is keeping me pretty much tied to other activities and to be honest I never even think of checking the PM section. I haven't even played the game in weeks. Always better to send me an email as that goes to my business account and I get to see it during the course of the day.

... sure didn't sound like it. Besides, as i've said before, "fantasy events" are easily disputed, and best left for another mod to do.

That's cool and I'll keep it in mind, but for other people who might not know your preference you may wish to consider either enabling a pop-up box or email notification for when you receive a pm. This is done from User CP, Options.
