Grrr.. I still get the same problem, and I think I did everything right this time. I get told there is an illegal command type, I ignore it, the first event fires and then nothing (I used an altered savefile to get me to april '38). :confused:

I guess I have to wait for Copper Nicus to look at it.

By the way, my mom is from Montevideo, so I've visited the great city of Buenos Aires on several occasions. Even played a game of rugby there once. How's the weather? :)

Im not sure if adding the demands on Yugoslavia is wise though, as it will basically kill Yugoslavia. But then again, that would be Germany's goal.

Ok, let's try again - no syntax errors this time :D. Now event got dissent hit (land leaders are angry that navy got priority) and permanent loss of 5 industry points (redirected to naval production). Also notice, that ships are not ready to built right after the event - guns and final designs have to be researched by the player/AI.
So, what do you think?

going off topic.... do you come to Uruguay "periodically" ? what have you visit in Buenos Aires? do you like it? have you seen the "Bombonera"? :D

going on topic... Copper Nicus, maybe you could select the coastal provinces, so you don't take 1 IC from a province with ONLY 1 IC...
also, with all the IC that USSR have, 5 IC is nothing, at least 10 :) (or even more, 20)
to demonstrate how big the project was.

Hmmm, all this shipyards were built on Eastern Ukraine - are you sure it would not be a problem if it get independence?
Also, we would weaken USSR even more... :(

well, if Eastern Ukraine is given to the germans or ukrainians it should receive again the IC... but if it gets too complex, we could leave the -1 and that's all :)

They lose those 5 IC at the start of the game in exchange for a lot of very flashy, but also useless techs - that's the clue. :)

If it was sort of tank or nuclear tech, I would agree - but it's BB, and even without guns! If SU player finish research (90 day minimum, providing he got guns) he would be able to get improved BB at the start of 1941. And usually in 1941 there is no more USSR, but only Moskau Reichkommisariat. :DD

well, if you want that... :rolleyes:
but i suggest another thing ... :)
you should add a random trigger (maybe 50) and also some offset (5 or 10) so the event does not trigger always the same date and you can even not have it... :)

(remember that the ethiopian events had random = 1 and they triggered almost every time, so giving 80 for example will mean nothing)

To be honest it's been a while now. The last time I was there was back in '97 when I was 21. Time flies.. I spent 7 months in Uruguay, getting to know the country and went to Buenos Aires three times during that stay. The nightlife was a tiny bit wilder than Montevideos... :D I also played a game with the Montevideo club I was playing with (Los Old Christians) just outside BA. That night we had a great time!

I also visited in 86/87 and 90/91 (at the time of the first Gulf War), but I was just a kid then and don't remember much of BA.

We have a guy from Argentina in my team here in Sweden now who got here last september. We've had many talks about BA since he came (it's good I can practise my spanish, I'm starting to lose it). I really miss it (and Uruguay). My "tia abuela" is comming over in May, that will be good. But I really have to go back soon!

Don't know what the "Bombonera" is, so I guess I didn't visit it.

the "Bombonera" is the stadium (cancha, estadio) of the Mighty Club Atletico Boca Juniors :D
you have to come back to visit it, nothing compares to that, if you like futbol (soccer). :)
you say you play something, but you didn't tell what, what is?
(i supose it is futbol because every man here plays it :D )

Aha... I guess you know Boca got its colours from the Swedish flagg.. :)
I play rugby, a bit odd here in Sweden, but a big (or at least growing) sport in Argentina now, isn't. I think you are ranked 6 in the world.. Not to be compared to 'futbol' off course. :)

About the event, it fired nicely. I used an altered save file again. The first two fired straight away. #1 first and then #2 (I started in Dec. '37). #3 fired with the offset as intended.

Suggestions: Change the starting dates of #1 and #3. The first event could be fired sometime in '36 and the third sometime in '37. This is to allow the player to get the ships ready to be build sometime in middle/late '38 as happend historically. The designs you need to research yourself are, for the BB, 350mm gun (142 days) 400mm gun (142 days) and imp. BB (142 days). That adds up to 426 days. On the other hand the real-life BB:s would take 4 years to build, while the games imp BB takes a bit more than a year I think. But I presume CORE will adjust the building times.

And can we put in an offset or delay for the second event, so it will fire a few weeks or a month after #1? I hate these event-chains that just pop up on after the other. Not very realistic IMO.

I have also updated the descriptions (on the same page as the events). I had overlooked a few errors, but I think they are Ok now.

Well, that was my idea - to give SOV player basic techs, but deny him ability to build these ships right away. But crusiers would be available earlier. Of course, this event would need update after release of naval mod. For now - it serves it's purpose. :D

We would need 4th event to put between first and second. :( Not that I'm lazy (ok, maybe a bit), but is that really necessary? :)
