Ok cool ihad seen it but was not sure if you had finished.

I am having a bit of a dead head moment...from what i can see the only difference to be tweaked is the Missing Bracket?

But it´s a huge difference. Without that bracket all conditions must be fulfilled ("AND") that the event does NOT trigger. And those conditions are mutually exclusive (being an ally of germany and the USA and USSR usually is) so the whole NOT condition was worthless and the event would fire every time BOL was at war with someone.

With the bracket only two conditions are together with the AND but the other 3 are only connected by the OR so that the event won´t trigger if any of the 4 conditions is true. Means that the USA won´t declare war on the USSR because Bolivia is allied to Germany and the Axis is at war with the Comintern.

Is this correct?....

You do know such things sort of existed? Rumour says the soviets had lots of tracked minisubs in swedish shallow waters in the 80's, based on stolen german technology of caurse. ;)
I have even read a about a fisherman encountering a caterpillar tank climbing over some rocks at the swedish eastcoast and seen pictures of track marks at the bottom. But this is just rumours ( that may be true? )

If it would not have been there then the game would have reported a script error for that event before. The number of brackets did not change - we only moved the bracket to the right position in the trigger.

Yeah i agree, even thou some of the stuff on greyfalcon is true some is just wet semi-nazi sfi transformers ideas... But still very fun to look at! A great research of bogus at least.. And i do like all those pictures with a walking robot getting feuled from a halftrack 1930's vehicle... :rolleyes: And if Hitler would have had the "Läufer" he would surely have won the war... :rolleyes:

In the naval tech file 'Naval Infantry Training' (6040) gives 20 shore_attack bonus for Inf, Moutain & Para. In the same tech tree 'Marines' (6041) activates marines units but gives no shore_attack bonus, so the Mar units ends up with an inferior attack bonus than other Inf unit type.

I am not sure about this as Marines units have a Huge shore attack advantage full stop because of there hard coding as a specialist unit type, so perhaps its not needed for them and is only needed for the normal units?

Marines are advanced by many of their own techs later on through research.

Are you actually seeing your marine units in game with less shore attack capabilities than your infantry units?

As far as I know you can´t simply compare the values shown in the savegame as there are hardcoded percentages that are not saved in the savegamefile.
e.g. Mountain units are always better in mountains - even if the bonus they gain from technologies would be the same as that of other units. See the terrainadvantages table for that:

The Marine units receive almost no shore attack penalty because of their Hard coded attributes,thus they need no bonus from the Naval Inf tech, unlike the normal units which are severely penalized and need the bonus.

Can you reproduce the crash when you reload a prior save and run to that date again?

Would be great to find out for definite.

I tend to think if anything, its might be an original issue as i don't think we have changed much to cause it for Japan particularly.There have been no other reports as yet so maybe it was just a one of weird thing but if it happens again then we will know more.
To be honest i have not had a real proper game of the new version but i have run the game testing stuff as some minors till 39 with no problems.

Do you remember if anything weird or ahistorical had happened elsewhere in the world?

I only have experienced CTD's with CORE when running on highest speed which is a long known issue and when Vichy triggers sometimes ,but occasionally i have seen it happen with end of Spanish civil war and split up of Yugoslavia.

Possibly it could have be because you had not saved and there was to much info running or memory being used?I seem to remember that happening to me occasionally when i have not saved the game for years ,but that might have been my elderly PC's fault.

i would always save (monthly autosave).
crashes dont happen often, but they happen sometimes. its also good if you want the SPAs to win.
