I get an application crash: "Id Already used (type = 6, id = 19003)" Abort, retry, fail, after liberating Lithuania and Estonia as Germany in '42. I don't recall all of the choices I made - but I do recall some event where I chose that I wanted to go with the someone or other + Ribbentrov plan that was to make such countries a buffer between Germany and Russia. And I get that error immediately following an event where I specifically choose either to liberate those countries (which I do choose), or to simply keep them as my conquered provinces.

I've searched on 19003, and what I come up with a type=9, id = 19003 minister, whereas the save game file lists type=6, id=19003 as a leader.

Sorry if this is not as helpful as it might be. Feel free to point in the right direction if there is a better place to take this bug report, or what info more is needed, etc.

Mordachai

This is a well known but to us and unfortunately not one we can do anything about as it is a vanilla HOI bug related to liberation. It is up to paradox to fix.

Unknown String Wanted message

Hi folks

Just loaded HOI, then patch 1.06c, then CORE 0.84 then 0.85.

OK, when I start the tutorial from the CORE icon version of HOI I get the message "Unknown String Wanted" in all of the text boxes instead of the correct game text.

Cheers

Sounds like something went wrong in the installation. I'd recommend a full uninstall, then install HOI + 1.06c and start the game to see it works. Then install v0.84 + v0.85 C.O.R.E. and start it using the C.O.R.E. icon on the desktop.

Still no good

OK, tried the reinstallation, same result. Text is OK in CORE version of game, but not in tutorial. The tutorial in main HOI game is OK.

The 0.84 CORE is corev084pe, assume this is OK over 1.06c? Then installed corev085 as suggested.

The game is the Australian version from Strategy First.

Yes, v0.84pe is intended for 1.06c so your installation is fine. I just did a text file comparison and it appears that a long time ago we stripped out the tutorial text from the text.csv file used in C.O.R.E. probably because it was perceived that it wouldn't be used.

There is no specific C.O.R.E. tutorial so you can just do the tutorial when starting the game from the Paradox shortcut instead :)

I'll add this to the FAQ and see if we can either restore the text or disable the tutorial button in C.O.R.E. (to avoid confusion). My apologies for wasting your time with the re-installation, I really had no recollection of removing the tutorial text...

Hi Steel

Thanks for the reply, at least I know there is nothing wrong with my setup :)

... as for the time spent reinstalling, as it may lead to a fix to help other players new to the game, then I guess it wasn't wasted either (I had assumed the CORE tutorial might be different to account for the changes from the main game - will do the main game tutorial now and then move on to give CORE a try).

Cheers

Ireland cant build adv. planes

because ireland has the "agrarian economy" tech all synetic oil techs are disabled. hi octane fuel requered for 1500hp engins has improved syntetic oil as a requerment. This prevent ireland and the other nations with a agrarian ecomomy from building adv. aircraft

Partially WAD. Nations which have the Agrarian economy tech, historically didn't have (and many still don't have) a ignificant industrial base. The tech is designed to allow those nations to have functioning economies, and not collapse after a month of of game time. And realistically, they shouldn't be able to get those techs, except if they join an alliance and get them from a more industrialized ally.

Check your history.txt. The French get the option to refuse the demands, and fight on to the bitter end. If they choose that option, Vichy does not get created.

You only have around 120 manpower in national provinces and you get no manpower from non-national provinces unless you are using Man of the People or Compassionate Gentleman security ministers which give you partial manpower. You also get no manpower from provinces without a land connection to your capital when at war so your islands and African provinces don't contribute even if they are national. I think you should be getting more than 6/month even so. Are you sure you aren't using Efficient Sociopath security minister?

I think i found the problem then, my total manpower from the mainland is 92 (counting annexed portugal), and my mainland "national" provinces give me 59 manpower. My manpower pool is exactly 5.9. Shouldn't annexed countries give you manpower if they are commected to your capital via land, they are considered part of your nation, arent they?

annexed provinces only give you manpower if you have the right security minister or if they are part of your core provinces.

Searching for "save" provided too many results so i'm gonna report this taking the risk (both of it being already reported and of not being a bug).

Hoi platinum, core 0.85. Whenever I load a save game some events seem to get fired, generally two in a row, even though historical timings were a little off. This has happened consistently through my Germany game so i'm assuming something's wrong. It's interesting also that i didnt notice random events, but the important ones (conerning sweden, norway, denmark, vichy and barbarosa mainly).

On further inquiry i found that only events that were apparently ready to fire do it, but it's really odd that they do it simultaneouly sometimes and before i unpause the save game

This happens in vanilla HOI as well and is not particularly linked to core. Whenever a savegame is loaded the game engine check for some triggers and then often fires some of the events. There is nothing we can do about it im afraid.
