There is a bug in 1.06b and GER plane sprites, its not a CORE bug. Its corrected in 1.06c patch. Alternativelly, you can download and install a spritepack like Exel's or Nighty's and it will solve the problem.

Problems

I finally d/l'd CORE and am enjoying it but have encountered some problems.

The most common is AI string not found. The last time it occured I was playing Bulgaria and despite war never was able to mobilize.

The second problem I am having is research costs are not being reported correctly. On my selection menu it states one price and more than likely it is higher or cheaper.

This last one I am not sure its so much a bug as a situational problem. I'v seen the Dominican - Hati conflict go to war and it kicked in the USA's Monroe doctrine. The US was mobilized and in war way early.

The Monroe doctrine mainly applied to non-North/South American states. Secondly I just can see no reason for a full mobilization considering the foe.
I think the situation can unbalance the game in favor of the Allies if the US enters that alliance.

Playing 0.84 - I noticed some bugs so here goes :)

Germany still splits the balkans with Italy even though Italy had gone allied when I conquered them as the UK.

Could the same trick that is used to prevent the SU and Japan from attacking each other be used to prevent Finland and Norway from doing so? There is no chance that they would have attacked each other in real life, but in my game Finland annexed Norway.

Finland still gets canadian volunteers before the war even begins.

I got an event saying that France had fallen and asked if I wanted to help them by creating a convoy, but this was in 1944 and France had fallen in 1939.

Could the Italian forts bordering France be removed if approched from the rear? They are almost impossible to take if 2-3 german divisions decide to stay there when Italy falls.

In my game New Zealand only built transports for the entire game, are they supposed to do that?

I think thats about it - thanks for all the good work.

Two WAD but Out of Context

1) The USA recalls its ambassador from Germany in March, 1939 regardless of what happens. The reason historically was the end of Czechoslovakia. The triggers need tweaked so it only fires if the Germans actually break their promise at Munich.

2) France will leave the UK alliance if they oppose the German move into the Rhineland in 1936. There is no way for them to return to the alliance until their WE gets back to 100 in 1942 or so. WAD, yes, but a bellicose France in 1936 and a timid France sitting out the war in 1939 seems counter-intuitive. Some sort of re-alliance around Munich should occur.

Multi player Bugs

Well first of all love the CORE project..............

A few concerns I had with .84 Played a .84 game with my usual LAN group on Saturday. Noticed that everything was fine but two age old problems crept in in Sept 39. First annexing nations (Only tested so far with Germany annexing Denmark) causes the host to crash shortly after the incident. More worrisome the autosaves and oldautosaves seemed corrupted and not able to load. Anyone else experiencing this??
All of our 5 machines were P4's, XP, with fresh 1.06c + .84 installs.
I can provide a saved game........

I got the exact same thing.

Also, I invaded Vichy France (I was UK), and took all their european provinces, France had all the others. When I annexed them, I got the message that Vichy France is now a part of our nation, but European Vichy became American owned instead. The US didnt have control of any Vichy territory before I annexed.

As germany I get the "Withdraw military mission from China" even though I selected the option to never start it in the first place. Besides I've also got Japan into my alliance which puts me at war with Nat China.

And in the events about starting Battleship construction there is a misseplling - "stratigic".

This is a vanilla HOI Bug related to liberation where the leaders for the liberated nation are loaded even though they already are and this can lead to errors which in most cases can be ignored but sometimes causes CTD.
I'm afraid there is not much we can do about it.

Did you get that message when you recognized Manchukuo? Looks like both that event (GER 172040) and the Germany military mission event for 1938 (GER 172041) both trigger the "Germany withdraws the mission from China 1938" event (CHI 522008). There doesn't seem to be a separate event for the reaction to the recognition of Manchukuo. [Also, CHI 522008 comment is wrong about what event(s) trigger it.]

Hey. I wanted to say that the CORE team did a great job on 0.84. Still, I found several things that probably should be fixed (forgive me if they've been addressed).

1.) No discription for the Unconventional Warfare Doctrine

2.) 1938 is the 3rd year of the Industrialization Plan. However, it keeps displaying that it's the 3rd year of the Industrialization Plan in 1939, 1940, and 1941.

3.) The post-war occupation of Germany is a pain in the butt when Germany hasn't even been finished off yet. The early division causes units, mostly in American Zones, to get cut off from supply lines. This really shouldn't happen.

4.) Allied nations that annexed Vichy France should give the territory back to France and not take it for their own for the rest of the game.

This is more a sugestion than other thing, but can tanks models have diferent research times depending on the armament?

example:
MG - 60 days
20mm - 70 days
30mm - 80 days
40mm - 90 days
50mm - 100 days
75mm Sh- 110 days
75mm Md- 120 days
75mm Lg- 130 days
80mm - 140 days
90mm - 150 days
100mm - 160 days
120mm - 170 days

Just as an idea, becose after all who will develop a basic medium tank MG when with the same time and cost can do the same with a BM tank 40mm o 75mm sh?

first sorry for my english! :)

the bug and situation:
- core 0.84, hoi 1.06c
- german and russian is a human player, the germans have war against the polish nation
- the russian player send expedition-forces to the polish nation
- the russian can move the expedition-armies in the polish country, if this not a bug, why dont see the russian the enemy? also the KI change the moveorders of the expedition-forces, so it is very difficult to organize the defence
- if the german anex the country, HOI will crash - all expedition-forces must return to russia before germany can anex the nation without a crash

Last a big THANX to the CORE-Hacker! Good work! I know, a KI is very difficult to build, but i wish more intelligence to the KI players, they are so stupid ... :( The landingoperations of the allies are very simple and no danger for the germans.

France gets reinstated when Algiers falls? Can't be retaken, either??

HoI 1.06c, core 0.84. Playing as Italian.
German AI takes France, sets up Vichy France.
Italians declare war on Vichy, and take Algiers.
France gets revived from the dead, and Germany loses all those provices.

Now, some provices in France can't be retaken, either. Where a German unit happens to be (still owned and controlled by France), if I move an Italian unit there I get a neverending stream of We lost control of XXX to France! messages.

I just started up a new game as Nationalist China and found something unusual. If the Soviets initiate Operation Zet, China get's 2 AA in Kunming. There's atleast one other event that gives additionel AA in Kunming. However, I still controll Nanjing. Shouldn't the AA go to Nanjing instead? I don't really get the point of gaining atleast 4 AA points in some remote, desolate mountain province which the Japanese will never ever reach ;) However I suppose the AI's capital will end up in Kunming, but it doesn't make sense for a human controlled China...
