Current multiplayer game has fasist USA at 1941 and they got -1 percent to join war. Is this normal or a bug? It pretty much ruins the game for allies.

If you go for ahistorical actions in MP (like early war with Soviet success) it lowers USA WE, sometimes dropping it below the level where AI is able to deal with it.

Just play MP with USA controlled by human, or try to start the war historically (no Soviet attacks on Persia or Poland in 1936).

EDIT: You mean communist USA? There is no chance for fascist USA, unless one of the players couped it (if it's his tactics, I suggest creating some home rules for your games).

I must check if usa really fascist, but the slider was on the top (fascist) corner, so that would seem like coup then, when that propably isn't possible with "influence nation". We are all pretty newbies on multiplayer games, so couping USA hadn't occured us before. Could you show a link to standart house rules which would cover all of these gamey tricks, so we wouldn't have to find out them all by ourselves  :p

Btw, it's july 41 and USSR has only annexed Finland after Winter war, but hasn't started any other wars.

I first thought fascist USA was some strange event, but I happy to know I was wrong :)

This site gather people for regular MP games and if you look at some of their game descriptions and Rules of Engagement, you should get an idea of how other groups play.

zero upgrade in tech tree?

while researching -light aircraft- under -early war improvement- there are 2 techs that give zero upgrade. onboard radio and armoured cockpit.(i think its fighter defence = 0) same goes for -improved flamethrower- and -mine clearing- under infantry research it gives ground defence a zero. is that a bug? at first i thought it was a prerequest(sp?) but i believe you dont need onboard radio for another tech. there a couple more, dont remember all at the moment, but some give militia a zero upgrade and in the artillary section there might be a infantry gun that gives a zero also.

The HOI engine only shows whole figures therefore fractions below 1 will show up as zero. Those techs usually give 0.5 points gains to the stat shown. In combat the real value will be used with fractions so the techs do have an effect.

Some techs list the "0" effects with a note, others do not. One of the drawbacks of the switch to Text.csv is that I, lazy as I am, did not cut and past the "0" warning into the air techs when we expanded the effects of certain techs.

Just noticed, USA wasn't really fasistic, but the slider only was in fasistic corner, so it propably was just influense nation working. Just wondering, can axis's influense nation affect on USA, affect it's war support?

no, the thing that affects the WE of USA the most is the number of VP's owned by the axis/allies

Couple of quick things

two more little problems:

Portugal has no manpower. This is not a later mobilization feature(nor should it as salazar was a fascist). Somehow someone deleted the manpower for lisbon.

Due to changes in the leaders list some of the countries, particularly Poland, have had their starting generals changed. two of the polish armies are now run by admirals!

keep up the good work,

programs like excel generate a lot of tags and stuff on save so you need to use a simpler editor like notepad fx. My number one choice. I always know that if it crashes its my fault and I cant blame the program :D

editing a csv

There is one problem using Excel to edit csvs. Excel saves csvs with commas, The game uses csvs with semi-colons. You have to change this. Personally I just open the csv file with notepad and do a replace , with ; it works fine.

Of course you can always just use notepad, but excel has a lot more functions.

Only problem in auto exchanging like that is you have to go through all your event desc to replace the komma back again.

Dunno if this mentioned, by as Germany I choose the Ribbentrop-Schulenberg plan and, then I occupied Estonia (the USSR had gone with No Deals with the Enemies of the Workers!, but had later DoW'd Estonia and Latvia anyway, and Lithuania was an ally of mine). I got the option for the liberation of the Baltics, although the USSR didn't control any of it and I only controlled Estonia. I went with yes, but then it froze.
