v7.1 Problems

Several problems to report:

Playing Germany the war started for me when czech refused sudetenland.

First problem is that the us dow in early 1940

Next USSR dow in mid 1940

Next when war started i select the middle option on how to handle russia. the main problem i have is with how this is handled. first i don't have a problem with the new countries..but there are missing provinces. For example romania owned odessa so when territory handed over USSR got it back along with a couple of polish territorys.

After the peace USSR immediatly begin demanding that territory back and they got azerbijan immediatley. Less than a year later the DOW me again.

Another problem is when this peace occured norway was formed with the occupied part of there country...not the problem...a few months pass and i get the denmark / norway event... at this time its 1942 denmard is already gone and norway has already been conquered and this new norway (narvik on up) is all that remains.

Talking about the CCCP...
I fight the soviets and before Dec41 have conquered all 3 major cities (Stalingrad,Leningrad,Moscow),so i get the armistice event's first option.But the events concerning barbarossa keep on!The soviets keep rallying around Staling and recieving lend lease from the US,though they are at war with the Allies,whose part the US is :eek: .
That is not all sadly...I declare war again and by mid43 have taken Magnitokorsk.Then,the armistice event happens again without me being asked!All of a sudden,i am in peace yet again!
Btw many other events happen out of time.Canada's fall of Paris happened a whole year after the actual occurence.It happened in April40(historicaly) though i had conquered Paris in july39.Shouldnt the triggers get checked from the beggining of the war and not solely when April 1940 comes?
Another example is the Franco-Hitler event which happened some time AFTER Spain's entrance in the Axis.
There are numerous such cases...I mean i love the job done with 0.70-71,but maybe the triggers should get checked yet again.

there is one event that triggers for Spain if they join the axis simulating that the Hendaya meeting was a great success. So that is not a problem. :D
(the real Hendaya chain is send to sleep by that event ;) )

dont know if this is a bug, but the vichy event seems to never trigger. ive gone through italy and didnt touch the benelux countrys so Paris and everything else is italy controlled. after a half year (May 40) and still no vichy event so i edited the event file.

Well, this is "your event modification", so it is not a CORE bug... but let's see... ;)
One of the conditions says that GER or FRA must control vichy... you are saying that everything is italy controlled, so the answer to your question is easy. :D

the answer is not that easy. if you read this carefull it says OR that means 25% IC+Paris lost OR either France or germany controls province 915, so the event should trigger. (i didnt change anything with province 915, it was there from the start. strange trigger imo) nontheless i deleted this lines and still no vichy event. is there some other event that prevents the vichy event from happening?

oh and after reloading the game, the italy vs albania event happened. far too late, and albania somehow sneaked into the commie alliance in the meantime. suddenly i was in a war against russia! :eek:

I figured out what was causing my game to crash. Events 322002 and 322003 (core_US.txt), which involve an alliance between the US and Canada, do not check to see if Canada exists. In my case, I had annexed it, so the game would crash when the US tried to sign an alliance with a nonexistent country.

you are getting it wrong... all the conditions are "united" by an AND, so all that you write there must be accomplish, in the case of the OR condition, one of them must be true, so if both conditions of the OR are false, you get a false from the OR clause, that united with all the others conditions by an AND gives a FALSE as a result, so, your events will NEVER trigger. ;)
So, Germany or France MUST control Vichy for the event to trigger.

Another thing, a "random = no" as a trigger condition is not a valid one, remove that line too. ;)
(read carefully, in the TRIGGER conditions)

There is a bug with USSR AI. I had multiplayer match with Germany (other human was brits). When Barbarossa started, AI had 0 troops in Leningrad and I could just walk in there. 6 months later AI left Stalingrad and Moscow empty even if they were in frontline and I could just walk in there too. AI was very good otherwice and it got 300+ divisions very early after Barbarossa started.

Is there anyway to prevent AI from leaving key cities empty? They all had very good fortifications, so I would have had much trouble capping them, even if 2-3 divisions were in there.

Unfortunately the problem you describes is connected with the way the game engine handles fronts. when the cities you describe become part of a front the ai will move the units around forts or no forts. :wacko:

I wasn't getting much attention in the other thread (Wrong thread, obviously)
but I keep having crashes when I am liberating any country any time! I am playing as the US, and have a lot of provinces captured and I want to liberate them, but it crashes everytime I click 'GRANT'. :mad:

Zip or RAR the save game and send it to steel@melachea.demon.co.uk. This problem mostly occurs when an invalid tech entry exists in the save game, did you do any editing?

It's not a bug in AI file, just mayor problem with AI behavior. You see, AI got garrison and front sections. When war starts, front AI is activated and if front needs more troops, garrisons are reduced. But usually it not makes them zero. Main problem begins, front closes to the garrisoned city. The province is no longer considered garrison site, but the front line, and all the units from this province are moved from garrison section control, to front line section. Result - garrison can be moved anywhere. :(

As far as I know, problem exists since the start of HoI and was many times adressed as the HoI bug.

Lord Warchaser: This bug happened to me as noted here. I also never got a response to this bug. It really screwed up my game. Unfortunately, I have deleted it since upgrading to CORE7.0. Hopefully someone will log this problem and get it fixed as it obviously will happen again.

Apologies to Ghost, I didn't see your post until after I responded to Lord Warchaser. Please forward my Egypt problem to wiki as well, it might help in solving this problem. It does seem to cause Germany alot more problems than it did to Spain.
