I have found a small issue, although i don't know if it has been reported already.

Playing 0.71 as US, captured an Argentinean Coastal Transport which has an operational range of 105000. Maybe it is nuclear powered or something. :D j/k.

It should be 10500, right?
It's an AI cheat but unfortunately it carries over when ships are captured. You may be able to "fix" the problem by upgrading the ship or just stacking it with other ships.

Hmm I thought I had already posted this but I might have been dreaming. :D

The Scandanavian non-agression agreements are badly broken. Some countries always reject even if they choose accept etc.

Yeah, I just noticed that in my current 0.71 game. Not sure if it's a text error, or mixed up event commands, as I haven't looked at them as yet. Also, there's an issue with the Mexico trade events, where the German response doesn't trigger when it's supposed to. Canadians still to eager to fight for Finland (still triggers prior to Winter War), and teh Hungarians still get to signe teh Tripartite pact first (needs trigger for the majors signing first).

Ill have a look at the wrong texts. They are probably a carry over from when the events were converted to text.csv.

In regards to the canadian I really dont know whats going on and would like others to have a look at it as well. In its present form it has triggers for both the winter war starting event(SOV), the allow foreign combatents event(FIN), SOV-FIN war so i really dont know why its firing.

I just checked the allow canadian troops event(ENG) and it has a random = 10 trigger that I did not put there. Does anybody know if an event with at random trigger can fire event though the rest of the triggers are not met?

any help appreciated

Those tech name and description bugs I found this far:
- Tankette 30 mg
- Smoke grenade launchers
- CTECN_10011 (no name or description)
- Mine-clearing equipment got "E: ground defence 0" mentioned twice.
- Basic air to air rockets has wrong name or description.

Ok, gurus of code.

I've downloaded Core 7.01 -- done the clean install from HOI on up through 1.05c and the picture pack, as recommended. CORE opens through the front screen, to the scenario selection. I select campaign 7.01, choose a country and hit start. It goes to the loading screen, and then locks up. I get these two messages:

Errorunknown lhs in frontprefs) 'strength = 1.000' Line = 135file = AI\core_Ger_36.ai

and

Error: organization = 3.500' Line = 137 file = ai\core_Ger_36.ai

Help?

When playing a game as Nationalist Spain I joined the Axis. I declare war on Egypt and landed in Port Said, which became a Spanish province. Meanwhile the Italians capture the rest of Egypt. Here's where things get weird. After all of Egypt's VP points are gone, it JOINS THE AXIS, but still remains at war with the axis. Italy didn't puppet it or anything, it just all of a sudden joined the axis alliance. When I moved my forces into an Egyptian province with any units, we engage in combat and when I move from any Egyptian territory to any British territory, the land goes to Egypt. What's worse is that whenever an Egyptian unit goes to any of my territory, the province becomes Egyptian!

Crash bug

I'm playing a game as Germany (Very Hard/Furious, HARD C.O.R.E., C.O.R.E. v0.71) and it's late August 1938. I've conquered France, Benelux, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, US (mainland), and Canada. However, the game has started to crash to desktop constantly. I haven't done much in the past month or so, just been assembling my panzers for an attack on Yugoslavia but haven't actually declared war. I've tried loading savegames from a while back, but the game will crash around this time even if I don't do anything. I have no idea what's causing it, although if I had to guess it's probably a miscoded event firing.

Playing as Japan Normal/Normal with 0.71...

Vichy did not join the Axis, and later I declared war on them (I was in the Axis). However, they were already at war with the allies, and the end result was they joined the allies after my DOW yet were still at war with the Allies. German and Vichy divisions sat in the same province w/o attacking each other...I had to edit the save file in order to get Vichy at war with the Axis.

Also in the same game, Germany chose to back down in the Danzig event w/Poland. War did not break out in Europe for quite some time, but I had several events as Japan that referenced the nonexistent "war in Europe" - sorry I can't be more specific I don't remember exactly which events they were.

Check the date on your HoI.exe, you would get this error if 105c was not correctly installed.

Hmmmm . . . . pardon my ignorance, but I'm not sure if I understand what you mean. What is the correct way to install 1.05c?

No problem, I was maybe a bit obscure... Basically it goes like this: over the last year or so we've had a very large number of problem reports resulting from the use of ZIP archives. The first reports were related to early versions of C.O.R.E. and later on it was related to those HOI patches that were released as zip archives. Essentially it boils down to this: sometimes not all files are un-zipped correctly :( Perhaps it's due to ZIP version problems, file read-only flags, No-Time-Limit mod or something else but what has happened to you is that you are probably running 1.05 HoI.exe instead of 1.05c HoI.exe.

To correct this: unzip the HoI 1.05c patch to a temporary directory, then copy the HoI.EXE file across to the \Hearts of Iron directory.

Okay . . . . please forgive me, but I must be really dense. I'm still not getting 1.05c to run (my version still says 1.05). Here's what I did, and if you could tell me what I'm doing wrong, I would really appreciate it.

Clean install of HOI
Download and install 1.05 (no problem)
I created a temp folder in my Strategy First folder
Downloaded 1.05c into that folder
Extracted 1.05c into that folder
I now had the HOI 1.05c folder
I moved that folder into the HOI folder

Tried running HOI, came up still HOI 1.5

Next, I tried copying the folders out of the 1.05c folder over the existing folders in 1.05.

Ran HOI, still get 1.05.

So, I'm obviously missing something. When you talk about the HOI.exe, do you mean the HOI icon? I try copying that into the HOI folder, but it doesn't do anything.

To check the date on your hoi.exe, go to your HoI directory (ie C:/programfiles/startegyfirst/hoi), the right click on the hoi.exe file. Go down to properties, and click that. You'll get a data window showing all sorts of information. Look at the file date for it. It should read something close to spetember 5 2003. That means you have 1.05c installed.

You will not get the "c" on the load screens, until you get to the main window IIRC. It will just read 1.05.
