Deactivation

Okay...Coastal Fortification Base Defense Doctrine does not deactivate Mobile Fleet Base Defense Doctrine. The reverse is not true (i.e. it works). Also I think I found the source of the deactivation problem...If you load the US you will notice several techs already preloaded. Some of them are suppose to deactivate techs. The 'deactivated' techs are still available to pick, but if you cancel the tech reseach and the repick them they will deactivate the tech properly. Now, with the US, since Distant Base Doctrine is already researched there is no way to deactivate Close Blockade Doctrine. Do you see what I mean?

Yup, it's a limitation of how the R&D queue works in the tech files :( You can either just go with the pre-loaded research (the other choice will be disabled when research completes on the loaded project) or cancel the pre-loaded tech and pick the other one :)

Yes, this was noted during the internal test but the guy who wrote those events are no longer around. I'd welcome input from the community on what the description for these events should be, I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable in this area to write it myself.

I´dont know where to post this so i am gonna take a chance here: Evry time i trie to start a new game in Core v 0.7 the game instantly CtDs as soon i get too the loading screen for the scenario. I tried to do a fresh install to HoI and install Core again but that didnt change a thing, the game crashes as soon i trie too load a scenario. i installed HoI, 1,05 patch, 1,05 c patch, Pickpack 0411 and Core v 0.7 (in that order). the earlier Cores have worked perfectly on my machine soo i think its wrong on core, not my computer (i might be wrong though).
Thanks again for a (hopefully) great mod!

Just started my first 0.7 game, looks awesome. Noticed a couple of things straight off the bat.

1. "Italy send more supplies to Nat. Spain" (second shipment) results in "Germany sends more supplies".

2. Alf Landon in 36=historical ??

3. Troops on transport ship seem to require NO supplies ?? WAD? Start fishing, lads! They start using supplies the moment theyre back on dry land.

1 - It seems a mistake on event text, it will be fixed!
2 - Don't know
3 - HOI bug, it is impossible to make it work properly with a mod....

We could also add some flavor to description:

"While the Republican Spanish governement and its motley coalition of liberals, communists, anarchists, and left intelligence were the main enemies of Spanish Nationalists, the various separatist and independence movements in Catalunya and Euskadi also earned the ire of the Nationalists for their attempts to weaken the Spanish national unity. Recognising a provincial separatist government could be considered tantamount to repudiating their core political philosophy, so Nationalists naturally refused to recognise any such governments."

This was written from the Nationalist Spanish perspective, but it also works from the Euskadi perspective... :)

Event id = 3709, US. Presidential Election of 1936 - Historical Outcome, has a B Choice (~5%) of Landon winning. This has been this way since before I started playing Core.

All of the "Presidential Election of 19xx - Historical Outcome", have B results like this. There is also a complex set of alternate events checking WE and dissent for these Elections.

Core WAD.

Been playing all day and I've quickly fallen in love with the new version, tech-tree, manpower, events and all. Just one tiny detail, in the event where the Soviets approach the Germans secretly to negotiate peace terms, the two peace conditions are mixed up. The button for "establish border by the Urals" activates the "establish border by Don-Volga-Something" choice... I learned this the hard way, and now I've given up way more of my hard-earned territory than I wanted. :mad: Oh well, I guess I've got time for a second DOW... :D

Again, thanks for the greatest mod for HoI out there!

I think the issue people have with that is that it portrays it as the 'Historical Outcome' when it is the alternative outcome based on the 'historical' chance he had of winning. The fix is simple - remove the term Historical Outcome from the event name and description. And while we're at it, ditch the Alternative Outcome phrase in the secondary, follow-up event. No purpose served than to confuse people. Quite simply, to the average player if Landon (or anyone in any election other than FDR wins, it is Alternative in their eyes and not Historical).

What follows is the bug

England leaves allies
England and satellites enter axis

The bug u ask well they remain at war with axis plus i'm (ussr) not at war with england. They are lost they are on the fence...axis gets the points for them being a member...but they're not fighting anyone. I do have a save game or two around that timeframe but not right on it.

That's very serious bug...

Are we taliking about CORE 0.7 here?
I though commie USA was eliminated in this version?

It's very strange, never happened to me...
I can only suggest you to check carefully the instalation folders.

When you install HoI (for example to the forder c:\HoI), 1.05 will install autmatically, but:

1) 1.05c have to be unzipped into the instalation folder (in our example - c:\HoI),

2) picpack 0411 have to be unzipped into the instalation folder (in our example - c:\HoI),

3) CORE 0.7 1) have to be installed into the instalation folder (in our example - c:\HoI).

Sorry if it's obvious, but sometimes one mistake in choosing destination folder can spoil whole process. :)

Steel, these events had desc, name and actions, they may have been lost during the .csv transition. They must be somewhere attached in the wiki in the 0.7 integration... uffff! :wacko: :)

EDIT: 802073 (ESK normalization of political life) and 802072 (the same for CAT) event names, desc and actions ARE in the text.csv, don't they display ingame?
802074 has NOT name, desc and actionnames, but i'm sure it had when i wrote them, it must be somewhere in integration.
