not really, the crusader leaders went to Venice a year before to arrange with Venice a contract to build 80 ships and supply 40000 men and then also take them to Jerusalem.
Venice built the ships and had all the supplies, but when the knights turned up in Venice a year later , they had only 27000 men and no money to pay, so Venice was unpaid and annoyed.
