Byzantium tradition

The other day I tried to play as Byzantium and as I opened the advisors screen I saw that I had 4 of them to choose from. I had no bonus that gave me additional advisors. Do countries now have one more advisor in the pool by default? Or maybe the Byzantine tradition of -10% advisor costs is broken and gives +1 Advisor?

Is something murky going on here?

Nope, just on standard.

at minute 40:25 he opens up the advisors' screen and he also has 4 choices in his pool.

Did you check the ruler traits? They are random at the start of the game.

A bit into the game there is a variety of reasons to have 4 or more possible advisors, such as events and estates, so the video isn't of any use.

Did your king have the well advised trait which gives +1 advisors?

Mmmm... Honestly I do not remember and I am at work. I had the starting historical ruler, with the traits that he gets at the start (I don't know if those are rolled or scripted).

Both the starting historical ruler and heir gets random traits at the start. I'm only getting 3 advisors, so there is probably a good reason for your 4
