BYZANTINE world conquest?!?

lol. I've never tried for world conquest. But I have Naples, Castile, and (sieging) Portugal in Personal union! Kiev vassal. I can click the claim throne button on AUSTRIA right now! They are my only ally, but turning them into a PU would be even better. They ally Russia.

I don't know how hard I want to try for an achievement. But I think I do have some sort of chance here.

One place I want some advice: I'm eastern tech. No protectorate spam! Should I try and fall behind and westernize, or try and conquer everything?

I do feel like my territorial expansion is quite behind of what it should be. So many new provinces, longass truces, Franco-Polish alliance, coalition of all nations. There were some distractions of course...
Just want some comments from you guys, haha.

Use alot of vassals and feed as crazy, later you can get client states to for the same purpose, if fast you may finish in like 150-200 years.
You don't have to annex the vassals.
You need a cb that give you land dip free so you can run as many vassals as possible but that is about all you need.

I'm having fun using their colonial conquest cb's on natives to stay at war and prevent independence wars

I highly recommend that you become HRE Emperor and Revoke the Privilegia. Also, you'll want to get the Overseas CB from Expansion Idea Group. It's a free CB against all of Asia.

And by the way, you're underestimating the amount of base tax (not provinces!) still left in the world. You don't have a lot of time.
You need to become emperor and PU Austria in less than 40 years to have any chance, IMO.
By the way, all CNs need to be yours to get the achievement. So you have to integrate Castile and Portugal before the end.

I Agree, a WC is probably extremely hard or nigh on impossible in this situation (without some glitch I don't know). It's probably too late to westernize with such a huge empire and conquering Asia is not an option.

@OP It really depends of your idea groups and how fast you can revoke as the HRE but it is going to be very hard. If you have Diplomatic, Influence and religious completed you now "only" need exploration, expansion and to revoke ASAP to start conquering like there is no tomorrow. For example once you defeat France make them annul their treaties, give as much of their land as possible to your HRE vassal(s) and instantly break the truce because you don´t want them to recover (if you let them rebuild their armies you'll waste more time the next time you want to beat them up).

Trade hegemon would be easy just no cb war for malacca the other two Hormuz and Aden should be easy to get

Orthodox nations are no longer eligible to become Holy Roman Emperor until the Peace of Westphalia (if it happens).
